Hockinson Seniors JD and Alex

First I would like to say a HUGE THANK YOU to all of our nation’s veterans! You are deeply appreciated by me and the country you selflessly served!

I had the opportunity last week to meet two different seniors who happen to be friends.

I first met JD who was excited when I suggested we take some of his pictures along the war memorial wall in Vancouver. His grandfather served in Korea. It’s actually a cool mural that is about a block long with murals from various wars in our history.

JD is excited about completing his senior year and looking forward to taking his next steps in life. I am sympathizing with his sweet mom who isn’t sure if she is ready to see him head out the door!  😥

JD educated me about the Sea Scouts – like the Boy Scouts but on the water! I had never heard of them. He has clearly enjoyed being part of that organization the past few years.

Just a few days later I met JD’s friend and fellow senior, Alex.

Alex is considering studying Geology. Of course the history teacher in me had to tell him that President Herbert Hoover graduated with a degree in geology and went on to become a very wealthy and successf_ul business man – before becoming president  😉

I love that Alex decided to wear his dad’s leather jacket.

My best wishes to you both as you finish your senior year and head off into your big bright futures!

This past week for the first time in a long time it was actually {cool} enough during a photo session that I was bundled up! I love these wonderfully {cool} Fall days! I’m a bit discouraged by all the rain! I’m just gonna keep praying for breaks in the weather to squeeze in my sessions this month!

{Media} what is that even? Advertisements? News? Entertainment? Google says it is a – means of mass communication – radio, tv, internet – or for the purpose of this prompt, the newspaper and flyers in today’s mail 😛

Lucy update:

Good news – she seems to be house broken! No accidents for several days – of course now that I’ve said it outloud… She is also sleeping longer at night – still gets up once and wakes up far too early…

Bad news – she HATES the kennel in the house. We have done EVERYTHING the books and vet have told us to do and Lucy just isn’t buying it! Even though I only use it when I leave the evidence is clear it’s not going well (see pictures below) and now I feel like I can’t do that to her! She handles the kennel in the car better – So we have now moved that one in the house.

She is perfectly quiet when I leave and when I return  but clearly something is happening while I’m gone!  Look how far she has moved her kennel! I picture her  hurling herself back and forth against the walls… 😥
