What I’m Photographing
A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to do a work place shoot. The purpose of this shoot was to provide pictures to update and personalize their website. Many businesses use stock photos which are the opposite of personal and don’t accurately show the environment of the business. Have you ever gone to a restaurant and been handed a menu covered in really bad pictures of food? I see it the same way when I’m visiting a website and I just see fake pictures and not what I can really expect when I choose to do business with them.
Needless to say I think Peggy was brilliant in hiring me to come to her office so I could photograph her at work. While there, we also took some gorgeous head shots of her. Now she has a gallery full of pictures that she can chose to use to update and/or change her website at any time.
Peggy is a wonderful therapist. I know because I have personally benefited from her treatments. You can check out her website and offered services here https://healingphysicaltherapy.net/
What I’m Doing –
Newsletter –
So I am working on it (not really, well kinda, I hired someone to work on it!) The kinks are being worked out and I am hoping April will be my first monthly newsletter. The purpose of the newsletter is not to bombard you with tons of emails. It is simply to have a way to connect with each of my clients directly. This will be especially helpful when I’m offering sales, mini sessions or any fun event. You will have the opportunity to sign up for the newsletter.
Attitude-
I’m also working on my attitude. I feel the winter time blues overcoming me. I usually struggle more mid January- February but I think with the move and Grandparent issues I’ve just been so busy. Things seem to be settling into a routine and I am missing some of the distractions that come with that. The fact that we have had an unusually long and very cold Winter isn’t helping things. What did help tremendously were the 2 dozen tulips my sweet hubby got for me!
What I’m Reading –
I just finished “Good Hope Road” – Nothing too exciting it was a 3.5 out of 5 for me. The best part of the book was the premise that out of tragedies good things can come. Which is an important lesson to learn. I found it ironic to be reading about a town leveled by a tornado while Alabama was hit by such a deadly tornado last week. Having lived in the South I have had my share of experiences with tornadoes. I have huddled in the bathtub with two babies in my arms wondering if we would survive. But thankfully, we have never been directly hit. We have seen the devastation first hand. My heart goes out to those in Alabama who have lost so much.
Last night I began reading “Where The Crawdads Sing” This is a book I have picked up several times. I’ve read the reviews but still hesitated. However, at our last book club it was recommended and that finally pushed me over the edge. It’s always so exciting to begin a book. I hope to love it!
What My Current Favorite Thing Is
Reading by the fire. I thought I would miss my wood burning fireplace terribly but it turns out this flipping the switch business gets me many more hours of cozy fireside sitting!
And Tulips. I just love them and this is their season!
Goal Check
So this year I made personal goals in 5 categories
Health, Marriage, Spiritual, Business, Friends & Community and Recreation.
Business goals are going fairly well – I have blogged every week. Another of my Business goals is to attend 2 networking events a month. I did it last month and will be going to one today. I enjoy them and dread them. I get so uncomfortable showing up not knowing who I will connect with if anyone. Totally out of my comfort zone.
Health I have stayed active. Sometimes its just walking the dog but just this week I have finally made it back to spin class (which kicked my butt!!!)
I am also plugging along in my other categories. Some days are better than others but I find reviewing my goals each day is very helpful for me to stay on track. And allowing myself grace, lots of grace.
I’ll be back next week. Thanks for stopping by!

Great all around! I so agree with photos of the actual business is much more inviting and who better to capture that !???? your inspiration for self care is spot on. So many things distract us … the small things like fresh flowers, flip fire and fine reading ????????
Looking forward to your newsletter friend!
