When I was 16 I went on my first date with an 18 year old named Jeff. I had met him the week before at a church potluck. Not a likely place to meet someone new. I guess it was just my lucky day. Having grown up in a fairly small community I hadn’t had many opportunities to meet new people and he definitely caught my attention right away.
After our first “date” which was kinda lame (ask me about it sometime) I was still smitten enough to quickly agree to a second date. It was after that date I came home and told my mom that it just wasn’t going to work out with this guy. I had two HUGE concerns. Obstacles I was concerned we just wouldn’t be able to see our way around.
First, he drove the speed limit. I found this habit excruciating and wasn’t sure I could tolerate someone who actually drove 35 in a 35. 😯
Second, he liked classical music…. At 16 my exposure to classical music had been the organ being played at church or an occasional violin doing special music. It just wasn’t part of my world and I thought it belonged to old people. Not only had I figured out Jeff listened to it, he LOVED it.
I think back to my 16 year old self and I’m happy to say my horizons have broadened and I too now appreciate SOME classical music. However, the speed limit has been a issue in several arguments in our almost 35 years together!
Rachmaninoff
This last Sunday we attended a concert. This was actually my idea. After being repeatedly exposed to Jeff’s CD collection I found that I did enjoy some of them and Rachmaninoff was my favorite. It is a powerful piano piece which is accompanied by a symphony. Click on the link if you have sometime to enjoy some beautiful music.

Announcing Senior Studio Sessions for the Class of 2019
SFP will now be offering another option for Graduating Seniors. Whether you are graduating from 8th grade, High School or University an excellent way to remember that time of life is through a professional portrait session. If you are looking for a shorter version of a typical Senior Session this would be perfect!
Each session will be 30 min here at the SFP studio located on E Main in Battle Ground. I have a variety of background options to choose from and a park just one door down. Weather permitting we can include some outdoor shots as well. These sessions are fast paced and fun. Different looks are optional and need to fit within the 30 min time limit.
$225 includes 5 digital images that you will choose from an edited gallery. With the option to purchase more if you desire.
Of course I will still be offering my traditional Senior Portrait sessions you can find details here – https://shellyfryphotography.com/pricing
Do you know anyone who will be graduating this Spring? I would love the opportunity to photograph them!
