Cake Smash – Shelly Fry Photography

Cake Smash – 2 in one week!

I’m craving cake – After photographing 2 cake smashes within a week I am left with a craving for cake! While babies often offer me some along with their slobber I politely decline.

Last Week Rylie came by the studio for her session. I was excited to use my handmade paper flower backdrop that I’ve had for years and have barely used. I love the way the backdrop photographed with gorgeous Rylie as the star! We began with a fun shoot in front of the flowers and then changed to the wood backdrop. Add a Happy Birthday banner along with an adorable pink tutu with the cutest stripped leggings! Plus pearls and a birthday cake and Tada!!

Hello Class of 2021 and Class of 2022!

I have been busy designing two Senior albums and I have my first Spring Senior Session scheduled this month. While I do the majority of my Senior Sessions in the Fall there are always some who prefer Summer or Spring.

It’s not too late if you are considering a Spring Session (Senior or Family) NOW is the time! The trees are blooming and our window has arrived! Here is a link to my blog a few weeks back highlighting some of my favorite Spring locations https://shellyfryphotography.com/my-everyday/best-spring-locations-shelly-fry-photography

2 year Anniversary – Maybe I should celebrate with a Cake Smash?!

It was two years ago today that I sent out my first edition of SFP News. I’m proud that I haven’t missed a month.

The big announcement from 2 years ago

There has been a learning curve writing a monthly newsletter and a blog. Sadly, I still struggle with misplaced commas and run on sentences.  I’m sure a host of other issues… but I do my best. My goal isn’t to become a writer it is to keep my community updated on what is going on with SFP. Both the blog and the newsletter give me opportunities to share my work and a bit of my life.  I do strive for the newsletter and the blog to not have the exact same content for those who read both.  That is one of the reasons I moved the book reviews to the newsletter. Naturally, there is crossover and on days like today when both are due the same day it provides an extra challenge!

Spring is Blooming!

Yesterday I wore shorts and a T-shirt when I took Lucy for a walk! I drove around with the top off the Jeep and Jeff and I went for a bike ride!! It was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cake Smash Spring in the NW

Yesterday’s 70 just about did me in! It’s official I have Spring fever and I just want to live outside now! The trees are gorgeous! My tulips are so close to opening I check them several times a day! One of my favorite things to do this time of year is to get myself to Trader Joes and buy their daffodils. They don’t look like much but for under $2 you get 10 stems. Take them home trim the bottom stems plop them in some water and within 24 hours those buds open up to fill your room with cheer for the next week! I also try to find time to drive up to Woodland to the Holland American Tulip Farms – Their website is horribly outdated but if you want directions here is a link http://hollandamericaflowergardens.com/ they have a large u-pick tulip field that you can wander through and they have a refrigerated case out front where you can buy tulips anytime (cash only).

I hope you can enjoy some sunshine and blooms today!

Shelly
