What I’m Reading

Happily I am always reading something!There are brief periods of time when I have finished a fantastic book and I’m just not ready to let go of it so I don’t jump right into the next…But I always have a stack of books near by that are waiting for their turn to be read….I promised myself a year ago that I wouldn’t buy any new books (except book club choices) until I had read more on my shelf…Which I did for awhile…but then I find myself at Powell’s and good grief who can walk out of Powell’s without a book or two or three…I’m always happy when people ask about {what I’m reading} and I’m always curious about their recommendations….This month’s book club The Invention of Wings I have not started yet…I’m about halfway through State of Wonder and I’m enjoying it. If you know me you know I am a HUGE FAN of the Northwest…I think we live in the most beautiful, perfect location on the planet…Just {down the street} from my home are views of 4 volcanoes, gorgeous parks, majestic old growth trees, rolling hills, lakes, rivers, quiet meadows, wildlife refuges, etc.And if I want the big city and all its offerings are not far away…It’s pretty great around here!And with that picture I am at the half-way mark for my 365 Challenge! I’m pretty excited about that!
I’m excited about the photo book I will make of my pictures from this past year! And I’m excited about the progress I have made in pushing myself to learn more about photography – lenses, lighting, angles, DOF etc….I hope you have time to explore something fun {down your street} and at the same time experience the joy of losing yourself in a great book even if its just for a few moments!Next: Beneath My Feet, Faceless
