The Sky

There have been some spectacular sunsets lately…
Sadly, I have found myself without my camera or not in a position to capture one of these amazing light shows in {the sky}…
On Friday evening I grabbed my wide angle 11-16 F2.8 lens for my {sky} shot…
A huge part of photography is learning what lens will best suit what you are trying to capture…
What I have learned is this is the lens to go to for any sky shots! I love how it captures the colors and broadness of the sky!
I headed down my street to see what I could see…
Where I live I don’t really have any vistas for viewing sunrises or sunsets but if the colors are up high enough there can still be a lovely show…
Hello
One of the first things I do each day is check to see what the photo prompt for that day is…
Some days I am very purposeful about what I will shoot…
Some days I just keep my eyes open and hope something presents itself and I remember to take a picture of it…
Some days both happen…
This day I was to be reunited with my long lost son so naturally I would post a picture of us with him….
But then I noticed there were many things to say {hello} to that day…
Like {hello} sunshine on the beach! Yes we are in short sleeves, running around in the glorious sunshine on the Oregon Coast!
{Hello} to miles of beautiful sandy beaches….
{Hello} to bare feet and sand between my toes….
{Hello} to laughter and the joy of watching a father and son have fun together…
{Hello} to a starfish family…
{Hello} to a steep sand hill I decided to climb so I could check out more of the view…
And honestly just so I can say I climbed the sand hill…
Turns out sand hill was too steep and the texture of concrete so I ended up saying goodbye before reaching the top…
{Hello} to beautiful ship with beautiful sky…

But in the end what I ended up saying was {HELLO} to the firemen washing their truck… 🙂
And yes, I made this guy’s day when he caught me taking the picture 🙂
Me
179/365
Yep, that’s {me}…
Oh how I hate this prompt!
But I took the time to set up the tripod and dug out a remote that I bought probably two years ago and learned how to use it (embarrassingly easy what was I waiting for?) and did it proper…
My original plan for the {me} prompt was this quick iphone shot of my sweaty red face after a 20 mile bike ride…
Part of being {me} is that whenever I exercise (since I was small) my face turns red…
Lovely I know…
The problem is the older I get the more alarmed people are at my color, sure it is an indication that the old gal has pushed herself too hard…
So I ended up taking two selfies…
You know, because I love it so much…
As we head into the last few days of June and slide into July take time to enjoy the beautiful {sky}, say {HELLO} to the details that make you smile and to take time for yourself {me} – I mean you 🙂
