Cake Smash -Cedar turns One!
Oh, how I love a good cake smash! Have you ever sat a one-year-old down and given them an entire cake? It is so fun to sit back and watch what happens! To be able to capture those adorable moments so parents can enjoy them over and over again is something I really love.
Each cake smash session begins with some lovely portraits of the little one. We keep the cake tucked away and out of reach while I focus on taking some adorable pictures of the little one. After that, we introduce the cake! Some kids are timid, others dive right in. I love the surprises that come along. Cedar had frosting from her hair down to her adorable toes.
If you know someone who is turning one this year a cake smash session is such a fun way to celebrate.
To do if you are planning a cake smash session with a photographer.
Plan what baby will wear. For my sessions parents often include 2 outfits. The first will remain cake free. There are special pictures of your one-year old. The next outfit will get cake on it! Some people prefer lots of exposed skin others prefer an outfit. Either way baby will get messy.
Bring along
- A blanket baby can sit on and get cake on.
- outfits – one that will definitely get messy
- Props – We will discuss the set and like the one for Cedar I will have it all set up on your arrival. But if your little one has a special stuffy, book, blanket or whatever it can be fun to incorporate them into the photo shoot.
- Clothes to wear home.
I have cleaning supplies here in the studio for the big stuff.
SFPNews
I have been soaking up the sunshine, flowers and grabbing some time in my garden. I love to get outside every single chance I get. I have also been traveling, squeezing in some family time and of course reading books.
It’s May 1st and that means a new edition of SFPNews is hitting inboxes. SFPNews is my monthly newsletter. I write this newsletter for those who want to stay connected, keep up to date, and aren’t on social media. In addition to sharing my work and what is happening with SFP, I also share what I have been reading and I love it when people share back with me.! Here is a link to this month’s edition if you are curious. https://conta.cc/4iBpu20
