Opening my studio in Battle Ground was a HUGE scary step for me. I told myself not to expect people to walk in off the street…But about 6 weeks ago on a cold afternoon, a lovely lady I had never met, did walk in off the street and asked me if I was available to do a photo shoot for her family. 😀
She told me her family would be gathering here for Thanksgiving -her parents and siblings were coming from as far as Alaska and all corners of the NW and she wanted to have some pictures taken especially for her parents.
This is Jack and Betty with their kids 🙂
I had a moment with Jack and Betty – the parents/grandparents/great-grandparents of this crowed and I saw the pride and gratitude in their eyes. I’m just beginning to understand just how meaningful it is to have your family together – something you take for granted when they are little and always around.
Have I mentioned how much I am thankful for my job! 🙂
Tradition

It has become a {tradition} to have soup on Friday nights. I love it! Sometimes the soup comes from a can but I try to make homemade most weeks – it’s always better and I love the way it makes the house smell! It is particularly good on dark, rainy, cold nights!

This is Rod – he is the guy who has made my Mom very happy for over 20 years. He is the guy who is a fantastic Grandpa to my kids. He is the guy who will always be there for all of us and I’m very thankful for him! Happy 65th Rod – wishing you many, many more! He needs two cakes to hold all those candles! 😉

Boy I sweating this session! The forecast wasn’t giving me any hope – all week it declared rain on Sunday…and sure enough I woke up to rain…but then an answer to prayer, it cleared off long enough for a beautiful family session in Portland. While it was {chilly} at least it wasn’t raining! More on this beautiful family session at a later date. 😆
Wishing you a beautiful Monday!
