Here Comes May!

Whew! April has been a challenge! This past week of glorious sunshine and warmth has us all smiling and nervously hoping the gloomy, wet days are behind us! I cannot believe May begins next Monday! This week has been crazy busy with 7 different shoots along with some travel, garden planting, book club hosting, editing, delivering albums and trying to stay caught up with all of life’s general chores. It seems someone has hit the fast forward button all of the sudden. Longer days and sunshine give us more time but does it? I’m still anxiously awaiting my cherry tree to bloom in my yard and I brought home a gorgeous magnolia this week! I just want to work in my yard and garden and ignore all my other responsibilities right now!

I know May is going to fly by! I plan to go climbing at Smith Rock with some friends the first week of the month. The next weekend we have a trip to see our oldest son and his wife in CA for Mother’s Day weekend. Then we are headed back to Walla Walla for a very special 4 year old’s birthday party (she has specifically included Lucy on her invite list!) Of course I will be busy photographing some last minute Seniors some brand new Seniors (hello class of 2024!) as well as families and head shots. Somehow I need to get the rest of my garden planted and make sure Lucy gets her walks in!

As we all try to juggle all Spring is throwing at us right now try to remember to take some time for you! Even if it’s just sitting in the car singing to a favorite song or noticing the gorgeous flowers outside as you rush from place to place. Better yet, find a patch of sun and let yourself soak it in for a few minutes! Go ahead, the world will wait for you.

Becky and Mark say “I Do”

Becky and Mark chose to have an intimate wedding at Mark’s grandparents home up in the hills of Amboy. After 12 years of dating they made it official with promises of staying at each other’s side for the rest of their lives.

Elizabeth Class of 2023 WSU

Class of 2023

This one has a very special place in my heart! Elizabeth is the daughter of my best friend. I have known her since day one. I’ve also had the opportunity to work with her! She was my assistant all last Summer. Then she decided she needed to go off and finish her degree abandoning me! She is graduating from WSU Pullman and I am so proud of her! We met last weekend in Walla Walla for her Cap and Gown session. She has grown into such a beautiful woman! I’m so excited to see what the future holds for her!

Nick Palmer Class of 2023

Class of 2023

Nick has big plans for his future and is ready to jump right in! He has a real interest and talent for photography and plans to continue to grow those talents as well as becoming a pilot! I photographed Nick 4 years ago and here he is all ready to graduate! Man kids grow up so fast! We had a gorgeous evening in Vancouver for his session. Congrats Nick! Hope to see you in the pilot seat real soon!

This is my great-nephew and he turned 2 last weekend! I’m so thankful we were able to celebrate with him! He loves all things trucks and you better believe he knows the difference between an excavator, bulldozer and a dump truck as well as any other tractor or truck you can think of. He is also impressed with dinosaurs. His mom made an amazing chocolate cake (from scratch) with some trucks on top. When the cake was presented to Owen all he wanted to do was scoop up the crushed Oreos and put them in the dump truck! Happy Birthday Owen!!

While we were there we also took some time to do a family session with Owen’s family. His momma (my niece) is due next month with baby #3 (can’t wait!). So we did a combo maternity, family session. It was so fun to photograph this family that I love so much!

Thanks for stopping by!

Shelly
