I’m mixing things up today because the weather is amazing here in the Northwest and will be for awhile according to my forecast which makes me want to do my job so badly!
So I have a few questions for you – If you were to book a photographer for a family session where would your ideal Northwest setting/location be? In other words –
What is your style?
Adventure – Northwest Style
Is your style more on the adventurous side? As you know I love to hike and the result of that is I know lots of AMAZING locations in this area with FANTASTIC views of the beauty we are surrounded with. Many of these locations take a little extra time and effort to get there but they would be oh so worth it! Imagine highly unique family portraits that would make you proud.
I have locations in the Gorge that would require a 10 minute walk or long hikes if you prefer. If you like the idea of Adventure but are worried about a long hike we can tailor it to your families needs! Maybe the beach calls you or one of our local Volcanoes? Why not take advantage of that beauty and do a photo shoot?!
Northwest Adventure locations would include
- Columbia River Gorge
- Oregon or Washington Coasts
- Mount Hood
- Mt. St. Helens
- I’m open to suggestions

Classic – Northwest Style
Perhaps your style is more classic. You love the orchards, wood and brick at Ft. Vancouver or a favorite park near you. There are so many stunningly beautiful locations right here to take advantage of! With everything blooming and the fresh greens on the trees now is the perfect time to take advantage of our gorgeous weather.
Classic locations would include
- Any local parks including Ft. Vancouver, Lewisville, Frenchmans Bar, etc
- WSU Vancouver campus

Urban – Northwest Style
We have some really cool urban areas here. I always find shooting in the city really exciting. There is such variety in the backdrops from brick, steel, rivers, parks etc. Perhaps you have a favorite store (Powells), restaurant, city park etc. This could be the location for you.
Urban locations would include –
- Vancouver’s new waterfront area
- Portland – many different areas and options which would include the river and parks.
- Downtown Camas, Ridgefield or Battle Ground
