Inspiration!

I am so inspired by my trip to PhotoPro Expo here in Kentucky!! Totally worth the no sleep! I have pages and pages of notes. Now my challenge will be to take the time and carefully go through those notes and make a plan to organize, implement and execute what I have been so inspired by! That is always the challenge – to bring home and use what you learn.

This afternoon I make the journey home. I’m looking forward to seeing Jeff and Lucy tonight! The time change combined with the schedule combined with my uncontrollable urge to get out and walk for miles and miles to explore where I am any chance I get – left me passed out cold just after half-time last night!

So I got some much needed sleep and I have some free time this morning so I’m headed out to explore again  😉

Since I’m surrounded by people I don’t know I was uncomfortable asking anyone if I could take a picture of their {eyes}…  😉

Such a fun experience to shoot with models and lighting systems! It was also awesome to have some of the top photographers standing next to you to answer your questions and offer helpful suggestions.  So from 10pm-12am I had the opportunity to wander among 11 different set ups (lights, models, professionals) and have my chance to use my camera and photograph {what’s next to me}.

This sweet kid is only 19 and his mom was standing near by –  😉

This was interesting because of all the lights that were surrounding her. I literally had to bend down and shoot under a “beauty light” she also had huge soft box lights on either side of her.

This model stood between v shaped lit screens with a fan blowing on her. I like the continuous lighting better than the flash system.

But with the flash system you get cool lighting from places various lights like a hair light around the model. When you learn how to do it just right, you can create shadows that can be really amazing.DSC_4098Can you see me?  😆

What I’m listening toDSC_4164-2

While I spent all morning {what I’m listening to} with some big shot photographers holding onto their every word the picture was boring.

This is  Gregory Heisler – He has shot over 50 Times covers as well as GQ, Esquire, House and Garden, ESPN, etc, etc. His portraits are amazing and it was so fun to listen to the stories behind several of them. One thing I learned is that Tommy Lee Jones is not such a nice guy to work with  😉  You never think about how challenging the process of taking those famous cover shots take. They often have only 5 min to work with the individual so they have to get it right! So there is lots and lots of practicing before the big shot shows up to sit in front of their camera.

Ok I’m headed out to wander a bit then I will be hoping on a plane and heading West…

Have a great day!

Next – I have no idea…  😛
