I thrive on the variety my job offers. Each one of us is different and as a senior photographer I have many opportunities to meet cool people! Last week I worked with royalty! I photographed Queen Dixie Kinney and her horse Suede in Walla Walla.
Senior Photography – Dixie and Suede
We had the perfect weather for Dixie’s senior session! Dixie is the Queen of Mission Hill Royalty based in Walla Walla, WA. While I don’t specialize in sessions with horses, I have done several. They always add an extra level of challenge and excitement that I love! I rolled into Walla Walla last Friday excited about this session!
Dixie came prepared with her beautiful dress, cowboy hat, belt buckle and western attire. Suede was getting groomed and I was fascinated by his curly coat! He was such a sweet boy and it was clear to me that Dixie and Suede have a sweet connection!
While Dixie’s mom and dad watched over Suede we began her session. It is important to me to take the time to capture each client in a variety of ways. I knew we would have a wide variety of shots that would include Suede and I made sure there were plenty of just Dixie as well.
This was the easy part. The luxury of focusing on a single subject in photography is a beautiful thing! Once you add a horse to the session there is a whole lot more to pay attention to! With the addition of Suede I have to be sure he keeps his eyes open, his ears forward and is always looking his best as well!
We had GORGEOUS light! We had an ideal location and my heart was so happy!
I took way too many pictures (have to with the horse wiggling his ears all around!) I have spent this week culling the images and I have begun the final edits. I’m excited to share some of those here with you.
Senior Photography – Looking Back 2018
I am currently in the middle of my 12th year as a full time professional photographer. I really enjoy looking back at past sessions. This session reminded me of a session I did years ago.
While I have photographed plenty of seniors with their horses right here in the area, this was a pretty unique experience! It was the horses first trip to the beach and I captured it in pictures! Senior photography offers such variety and I am here for it! I love just hanging out in a field with you. Or going for a hike and including waterfalls and gorgeous vies. Maybe you want a session at your favorite coffee shop, or local hang out. Or you would like to include your favorite activity. Whatever you are excited about I love to include that in your senior session!
