Happy Anniversary to Us! Shelly Fry Photography

Oh My!

Are you ready? Christmas is only a few days away and we find ourselves under the threat of some interesting weather. When life is so crazy busy and Mother Nature decides to act up it can be very frustrating! I have friends who hope to be on flights to warmer destinations at 6am Fri morning and other people I know that have tickets to concerts and holiday gatherings. Not to mention last minute errands and preparations for this weekend. Hopefully all will be well. I’m always a fan of snow. I am not a fan of ice storms and power outages and not being able to get to places you really want to go…

I wish each of you a very Merry Christmas! I hope you have lovely plans and time with those you love!

Happy Anniversary

Speaking of snow! Jeff and I celebrated our 34th wedding anniversary last weekend in Leavenworth, WA.  Going to Leavenworth is something we have talked about for years but frankly we never planned far enough ahead of time to make it happen. We were really blessed with gorgeous snow and easy travel!

We had so much fun exploring the town, picking up some Christmas gifts, snowshoeing, sleigh riding and having some quality time together! The lights and snow and sleigh rides just made everything so Christmasy! I was eating it all up! We enjoyed going into the town Friday afternoon, early evening and Sunday morning then evening. We completely avoided it on Saturday. The traffic was crazy!  I had way too many cups of hot chocolate and pastries but I decided it was necessary to the celebration!

I would like to go back in the Summer to explore all of the hiking. The mountains are gorgeous!

Copper Bell Bookshop in Ridgefield, WA.

With all of the building in our area I always hope something interesting will come in! I fantasize about cute bookshops that also sell warm drinks.  I’m so often disappointed. The boring strip malls, gas stations and storage units are getting old.

While I live in Brush Prairie I had heard rumors that there was a new independent bookshop open up in Ridgefield. This past week and friend and I met up there to check it out. It is adorable! With beautiful shelves full of interesting books! The atmosphere is warm and inviting. This spacious shop includes an adorable kids nook. The owner’s story is very inspiring! If you enjoy books and especially if you are looking for last min gifts this would be an excellent place for you to check out! Here is a link to an article about the store and owner and it includes the address https://www.thereflector.com/stories/copper-bell-bookshop-opens-in-ridgefield,301061

Thanks for stopping by!
