What I’m Doing – Readers Choice 2019 Battle Ground WA
I’m tooting my own horn! Did you hear? The results are in for The Reflector’s Readers Choice Awards 2019. The Reflector is the local newspaper for Battle Ground. They have this contest each year and this year I get to say that I am the Reader’s Choice for photography. Of course this would not have happened if you guys hadn’t taken the time to vote for me. I sincerely thank you for your votes!
What does this mean? I have no idea! Hopefully more business. It certainly helps get my name out into the community which can’t hurt right?!
I really do appreciate everyone who voted for me. You guys are THE BEST!!
Lucy Update:
We were back at the vet last week. She started vomiting bile… and stopped eating. More test were run – without any conclusive or scary results the Dr. determined some sort of ulceritis. Cause? Who knows? She is known to chew bark chips at times? So we were sent home with 2 different pills to give our dog who wouldn’t eat. We spent several days of frustration with her lack of appetite while trying to encourage her to eat her pills and some food.
A huge thank you to Becky for sitting with me at the vet for hours and dealing with my tears. Also for making chicken. As a vegetarian I am clueless… Also thank you to Shannon, (who doesn’t bother to read my blog, but I still love her) I’m grateful she introduced us to pill pockets. Lucy got very good at eating everything but the pill but we have had some success!
Wed morning she ate all her breakfast and then ate dinner in the evening so we are hopeful. I will feel much better if we get through the weekend without another huge vet bill! We are keeping our fingers crossed!
What I’m Photographing – Graduations!
Oh my goodness it has been a marathon of Graduation pictures at SFP. I attended 3 graduations and shot exclusively for 4 different clients as well as shooting for specific orders at each graduation. Then the editing marathon began! I like to get pictures back asap! It’s fun to get pictures back to clients while the excitement is still in the air. Before the end of the day I was able to text 8 pictures to each of my exclusive clients so they could share on social media if they chose. By the next day I was able to deliver each clients gallery. Each gallery ended up with 70-100 images of smiling, crying, happy, sad, goofy families on graduation day.
By Wed my graduation orders were already back from the printers {thank you overnight shipping!} and I had them at the school waiting for pick up!
Gorge Shoot!
I’m super excited that a family has accepted my deal for a shoot in the Gorge! We will be headed to an awesome location next Sunday.
What I’m Reading – “Year of Wonders” – Geraldine Brooks
It’s a lovely encouraging title. Some would even say misleading…
The cover also describes is as “A novel of the Plague” followed by a quote from The New Yorker which reads”A deep imaginative engagement with how people are changed by catastrophe”
Why was I drawn to it? Who knows? So far it’s a sad story about a bunch of people dying in 1666. They live in a small isolated village in England, well outside of London.
At this point {page 102} I have no idea if I like it or not. Which is weird. It’s kinda like a piece of bread with butter on it. I’m really hoping I can add jam and love it and I really, really don’t want peanut butter on it because then I would hate it! (childhood trauma regarding the peanut butter and butter I will save that for another time)
I will let you know if I get jam or PB.
Goal Check –
I will be focusing my marketing and social media posts on finding more 2020 Seniors to book. I am still offering $100 discount for any Senior referred to me that books. What does that mean? It means if you send me a Senior who pays their deposit and books me for their session, I will send you a discount card good for $100 off any family or senior session you book! It’s a good deal!
My {current} Favorite Thing –
My Jeep 🙂 – I know this was my favorite last week but it’s just not wearing off! We took the hard top off this week and it’s been so fun driving around! My soft top is in the garage and on the to do list. We have to figure out how to assemble and install it. Wish us luck! We will need it!
Thanks for stopping by this week friends!
