Yep! It’s back to school time! It’s always a shock to the system to see those school supplies coming out in the stores mid July. You know it’s coming and its coming quick! For some this is the week they are back in school. A few others get a few more precious days of Summer before they hit the books! Either way Class of 2022 this is your year!
Ken – Professional Head Shots
Ken is running for an elected office in Ridgefield. He contacted me and asked to book a photo shoot for his campaign. Which just sounded super fun to me. We met in downtown Ridgefield and walked around choosing different locations to use as backgrounds. This is a nice twist on traditional (studio) backdrops. I personally always really like shooting in natural light with varied backgrounds.
Ellie – Class of 2022
Ellie will be heading back to school at Skyview very soon. But first we met in The Pearl District of downtown PDX and had a really fun urban shoot. I’ve said it before and I will probably say it again, I absolutely love shooting in urban areas! It is so much fun to just walk around and notice different backgrounds to use. To take advantage of whatever presents itself in that moment. Yes, I have some regular places I use in each location but there is a reason for that. They are amazing! When Ellie told me yellow is her favorite color I knew right where to go for some of her shots!
The weather this Summer has been awesome (except a few REALLY hot days!) I haven’t had to worry about rain once! As I drove towards PDX Sunday morning I hit some honest goodness RAIN as I crossed the I-5 bridge!!! WHAT?!?!? Thankfully, it didn’t last long and as you can see it all worked out beautifully!
Preslie – Class of 2022
OK there is no point in hiding it. This Senior is super special to me. This is one of my gorgeous nieces! When she reached out to me late Spring about scheduling her Senior Session I was a bit caught off guard! How can she be a Senior already!!!
I have been looking forward to this Session all Summer! She chose Rowena Crest (between Hood River and The Dalles) as her location. She wanted views and golden hour light
The day of her shoot finally arrived and it was cloudy and drizzly!!! I checked the forecast for Rowena and it said partly cloudy. We needed that low light shining through just before sunset to get the look she hoped for. Thankfully just as we arrived on location the clouds had lifted and we had plenty of sunshine! But we also had WIND!! Constant wind with some powerful gusts thrown in just for fun!
After a quick conversation we decided to go for it and I’m so thankful we did! Preslie did an excellent job battling the wind and keeping that gorgeous smile on her face even when her hair smacked her in the face (over and over again!)
As you can see we managed to get plenty of gorgeous shots and the session was a huge success!
