Mini Sessions are happening soon!
The good news for you is that there are still spots for the upcoming mini sessions. More good news is that they are being offered on two different dates to help accommodate people’s schedules. The other news is people are booking which means there are fewer spots! Don’t miss this opportunity to have some beautiful family photos.

When and Where are the minis happening?
First option:
Where – Cape Horn Overlook (just east of Washougal) there is no hiking necessary for the amazing views of the Columbia River Gorge making for an amazing background! Just a short walk from the parking area. There are also tall grasses and large trees. It is a beautiful, easy to access location. I may be able to convince my assistant to lug a big chair out into the field as well.
When – November 14th – click the link to see available time slots. As of this morning 3 spots available.
Second option:
Where – Sternwheeler Park, La Center, WA. This beautiful park is full of massive trees, beautiful paths and lush green fields. I have always enjoyed photographing at this park.
When – November 21st – click the link to see available time slots. As of this morning 3 spots available.
As I mentioned last week, mini sessions have lots of advantages. Here are a few –
- It’s been too long and it’s just time for those photos!
- These are a lower price point than a full session
- Great gift idea for the upcoming holidays
- Do you like to send Christmas cards? You would have gorgeous, fun pictures of your family to share!
- Life changes since your last photo session (is your youngest child even in your last photos!)
- Beautiful locations in the PNW for your backgrounds
- They are called mini sessions because they take less of your valuable time.

Fall Senior Sessions – That’s a wrap (or is it?)
Wow! I had the opportunity to photograph so many amazing Seniors this Fall! I honestly enjoyed each and every session! Here at the end it’s been a tad stressf_ul with the weather but we did it! Everyone got photographed and I will meet the November 1st deadline! For those of you with schools with a later deadline I’m looking forward to working with you! Let’s talk about booking you Spring of 2022! Or maybe you want a Winter shoot? Let’s talk!
Beckley – Class of 2022 – Fort Vancouver HS
This Volleyball player had me reminiscing about the good old days when I could spike a ball! We met at Fort Vancouver under some threatening skies and had a great shoot! We explored the Fort and then walked over the land bridge and down to the river. The light was amazing! I was giddy and then the heavens opened up on us and it was over! But that is OK. Other than getting soaked on our way back to the cars we had the pictures needed and had a great time doing it! Thanks Beckley and Mom Jen for being such great sports in the rain!
Dakota – Class of 2022 – BGHS
There was just no way we weren’t gonna get rained on for this session! It was stormy outside and we had all accepted that we would just go for it and have some really cool urban shots in the rain. I bought a new black umbrella for Dakota, I watched Youtube videos about shooting in the rain and even had some really cool ideas I wanted to try out…
Unbelievably just as we headed to Portland for my very last Fall Senior Session of 2021 the rain stopped! Yes it was windy (very windy) but it was AWESOME! Dakota was so much fun to work with! His GF had her Senior session down in the area and he wanted the same. I was so excited to have another opportunity to shoot in this area. We met at “The Fair-Haired Dumbbell” (yep that’s the name!)
Dakota brought along a couple of his guitars and we just had a blast!
If you’d like to see Madison’s session from the same area click here https://shellyfryphotography.com/my-everyday/senior-sessions-shelly-fry-photography
Location: The Fair-Haired Dumbbell, Portland, OR.
Why I like it: I absolutely love shooting in locations that match a client’s style. Urban sessions are always so much fun for me. I love the challenge of walking around and just seeing what jumps out at us. Opportunities are everywhere. The Fair-Haired Dumbbell has a vibrant paint job that makes for a fun backdrop but the area is surrounded by other street art as well the Burnside bridge with view of PDX. Super fun!
Thanks for stopping by! Don’t forget to check out those mini sessions!
