Hello Class of 2021 – Grad Sessions
This week has been all about the graduates! Back to back grad sessions along with clear skies, blooming flowers and awesome locations this week has me smiling from ear to ear! The majority of my Seniors usually choose Fall for their sessions. Those that have waited until now have hit the jackpot in terms of weather and blooms!
Abby – The Pearl District PDX – Grad Session
Sunday morning was a bit chilly but the light was amazing and the streets of the Pearl district were nice and quiet. Abby and I had a lot of fun as we walked around and I showed her many of my favorite locations to shoot in that area. Abby was excited about her Senior session and she just relaxed and trusted me as I gave her direction for posing and where to stand, sit etc. I appreciate that kind of trust!
Keeley – McMenamins, Edgefield – Grad Session
I absolutely love this location to shoot at! I’ve been here a few times but this was my first Grad session at this location. They are so awesome to work with and there is such a variety of backdrops I feel like I could shoot there for months and still find unique spots. Keeley is set to graduate early June and she is excited to start University with a Nursing major. Keeley is also related to the Fry family :). Her father and my husband are cousins. Keeley was nervous but settled down right away and gave me her gorgeous smile and it was smooth sailing!
Avery – Ft. Vancouver – Grad Session
My final Grad session of the week was with Avery. I always enjoy working at the Fort. The variety in that area is pretty awesome as well. Right now there are some amazing magnolias blooming and the apple trees around the Fort are in bloom.
Yes! The answer is yes!
If you are wondering if this is prime Spring time for pictures the answer is YES! We have this amazing weather window coinciding with blooming trees and flowers everywhere. I also have a few openings. As of this moment I have 2 spots on Sunday available one in the morning and one in the evening. Also with our longer days there is time to shoot in the evenings during the week. So if you’ve been thinking about a Spring photo shoot – now is the time.
This week I met with the owner of O’Keefe Farms in Hockinson. They have a sweet little roadside stand which is selling gorgeous tulips right now. You may have visited their Sunflower festival last year. You can follow them on IG here https://www.instagram.com/okeefe_farms/
Check out her gorgeous tulip field pictures! I reached out and asked for a tour. Kelly was so friendly and I toured my dream tulip fields. Unbelievably I didn’t take a picture! They also have an amazing historic barn built in the 1800s. They also have Sunflower fields and dahlia fields later in the year. I have added this to my list of possible locations for shoots. So if an old barn and fields of flowers sound like a great location let’s talk!

Some of the best locations are not even blooming yet but I’m sure with this warm weather they will be very soon!
Today’s Shoot – Not a Grad Session!
First thing today I am headed back down to the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival in Woodburn for a maternity shoot! This shoot was scheduled for the end of the month but when mom reached out and asked if we could head down to Woodburn this week instead I said YES! I will be sharing some sneak peeks later today.
Get out there and soak up some of that Vitamin D!

So if you haven’t already and you don’t mind taking a minute here is a link where you can go and nominate Shelly Fry Photography (under the Services category – scroll down to find photographers, there you will see my name.) I would really appreciate it!
