What I remember about the morning of 9/11 was that it was a gorgeous, clear blue morning. I woke up early and headed out for a walk around a dirt track with tall grass and trees. For me it was a peaceful morning… I came home to find a voicemail message on my answering machine telling me to turn on the TV. I didn’t feel “peaceful” again for a long while…
Much has changed in the 14 years since that awful life changing morning. Obviously for others it changed in the most terrible of ways. My changes included a loss of sense of security. My nievity was replaced with a need to be prepared for the worst without having a clue of how to do that. Gone is the dirt track I walked that morning – now a subdivision. The small children I had have grown into men under the shadow of 9/11. I worried for a long time when the next attack would come. But I slowly realized I can’t prepare for something like that and it does me no good to live in a state of worry and fear. Worry and fear will not protect me. Worry and fear will only ruin the beautiful moments I have been given and what a shame it would be to throw away such beauty!
9/11 has made a clear mark on the pages of history and it is important to remember the victims and the heroes of that day.

You will notice a Fall theme to my pictures today! While it still insists on being hot 👿 (predicted high today 94) the arrival of Fall is undeniable. The trees are turning, the Mums are blooming and my pumpkins are orange 😀

I cheated (again) with this picture. I wanted the picture to show that this red leaf was {solo} on a tree of green. In fact my tree has large sections that are red and large sections that are green. But that doesn’t matter, the point is the tree is turning a lovely deep red! Fall is my favorite! Can you tell? 😆
Take a deep breathe and find some beauty, adventure and peace in your weekend!
