Dessert/Hidden

Dessert

Dessert….
We are surrounded by it…
And yet today I didn’t have any in my house…
And I really want (need) to keep the {dessert} out of my house for awhile…

So while I was grocery shopping today I was the weirdo taking pictures of the {dessert}s…
I wonder what people were thinking…
What possible scenario did they come up with for the crazy lady in the grocery store taking pictures of the {dessert}s…

Maybe I have inadvertently started a new diet craze…
One where you take pictures of the {dessert} and then carry it around with you pretending you have it and could eat it any time you wanted to, but you are exercising the ultimate self-control that will somehow translate to when you are in the possession of an actual {dessert}…

Or, I simply blended in with the rest of the world’s weirdo’s who take pictures of absolutely everything…

Hidden

{Hidden} is today’s photo prompt and I was struggling with what I should shoot…
Some options occurred to me –

  • The dust bunnies under my bed

  • Messy drawers

  • Pile of laundry

  • Things under the couch cushions

  • etc, etc, etc

But I decided I’m happier if those things remain {hidden}!

I’m not even going to tell you how many pictures I took to get this one tolerable shot…
The effort is {hidden} in the final product.  Not that it is in any way an especially good shot…
But the entire point of doing this project is to learn more, push myself…

So the first thing I had to do for this shot is use my tripod…something I am rarely patient enough to do…It just takes TIME to set the thing up and get the camera on it just so…
The next thing I did was use the timer…
I have never used the timer – so I had to figure that out…
Then I had to get the settings right for shooting indoors…something I don’t care to do because the lighting is TRICKY and it takes me MANY adjustments to get the light to look natural…

So in addition to my personal struggles, which are {hidden}…

There is a lot of time, effort  (and expense) that goes into photography that is {hidden} from those who are not photographers.  The price you pay for the photographer goes far beyond the time, effort of simply showing up and taking the pictures.

Speaking of that I better get to my clients pictures I like to deliver them fast!
