Spring Sessions with Shelly Fry Photography

Are you excited that Spring is coming? Personally I can’t wait to see our cherry tree in full bloom. I love seeing old Magnolia trees in all their glory, smell lilacs as they burst into Spring time and Tulip fields in full bloom.  Maybe I’m sounding a bit corny but it’s all true! This Winter has felt long and cold and I’m ready to soak in all the sunshine!

As a photographer I’m also excited about Spring portrait sessions! Photography slows way down Jan-March and then magically everything speeds back up again (it’s such a relief when that happens). There are a couple ways to enjoy Spring Sessions with SFP.

Studio Spring Sessions

Sometimes Spring weather around here is a bit unpredictable. The good news is that we can bring Spring right into the studio! I have several Spring backdrops that can be used as well as simply bringing some flowers inside. 

Outdoor Spring Sessions

Often those of us who have fully adapted to PNW Springs just go with the flow. Umbrellas, rainboots, wet hair and ducking under cozy over hangs can all be used for some pretty fun outdoor sessions. The rain actually makes the flowers pop even more! Vivid colors and fun rain gear make for some really fun sessions.

But, let’s not assume it will rain. We can have the most gorgeous, sunny, warm Spring days here as well. Man it feels good to be out and about capturing all the beauty!

Here are a few of my favorite Spring locations

• Rowena Crest in the Columbia River Gorge! My number one favorite locations. This location is stunning anytime of year. When the wildflowers bloom (April-May) its mind blowing!
• Camas lily fields
• Tulip fields
• Random fields with wildflowers blooming
• Cherry Trees – Clark College or in my garden!

Class of 2023 – Spring Sessions

Here’s one final reason to book a Spring Session today. 

Perhaps you are or know of a graduate who hasn’t had their Senior Session yet. It’s not too late! I often do Spring Senior Sessions. Parents love to use these images for graduation announcements, party decorations and gifts. But most importantly it’s such a milestone in an individuals life journey and the perfect time to document them.  Time is running out and soon these Seniors will be marching down the isle.
