What I’m Doing

We did it! We flew Covid style to see our son and daughter-in-law and had a wonderful weekend. I find masks very uncomfortable but some things are just worth going out for!

We had so much fun with them in Boise. We paddle boarded, swam in the pool, floated the river and rode along the greenbelt on cruiser bikes it was awesome! Jeff and I have birthdays this week and the kids celebrated us by making us a pie and taking us out to breakfast. 

The one downer was I accidentally left my phone at home!!!!!!!!!! I could not believe it! I was having some withdrawals but I survived an entire weekend away without my phone! Sadly, as a result there aren’t many pictures. 

1st week no boot! I do have swelling and some pain but happy to be free and more active 

Bike Riding – I got back on the bike this week! Biking doesn’t hurt my foot at all! It does hurt other areas though! LOL! I am really happy to be able to ride again. It is really challenging for me to stay positive when I can’t be active. I have struggled with depression in the past and exercise is how I deal with the junk life hands me. Needless to say this has been a challenging time for me and I am so relieved to be on the other side now! While I’m still longing for some hikes I am happy to be biking for now!

We have a ton of birthdays this time of year. Ty and Lucy start things off. They share a birthday on the 29th we had a small celebration for them Monday night. I can’t believe my baby is 23 or that Lucy is 5 already!

What I’m Photographing

Miah – Class of 2020 

It’s never too late to celebrate! Miah’s originally scheduled Grad Session was postponed due to Covid.  I’m so happy that even though Graduation has passed we still celebrated this life achievement with some beautiful portraits of this lovely young lady. 

We included her boy Dakota in some of her pictures. I love when four legged friends join in!

Family – Casey and Ciara are their sweet little ones met me for their family photo session last week. We took full advantage of the gorgeous weather 

As we wandered around picking place to shoot at it was really nice to get to know this young family. Rider is such a good big brother… very patient and does a great job watching over his sister. Rose is full of energy! Happy to climb, through rocks and wander fearlessly! 

Head Shots

I also had some people come by for professional head shots for their website. I will be doing more of these at a CPA firm next week. I always enjoy these sessions, very little pressure and a great opportunity to meet new people and hear about what they do.

What I’m Reading

The Dinner – by Herman Koch

I am striking out with books lately!! Another stinker in my opinion. I choose this book because I thought it would be thought provoking. What would you do if you knew your child had committed a crime? 

Let’s just say I hope to heaven I would not handle it the way these did. Actually, I know I wouldn’t. Besides the tragically and deeply disturbing story I hated the writing style.

I picked up 3 new books over the weekend. I’m hopeful these will be more to my liking!

What I’m looking Forward To –

The Promise of Fall – It’s hot, too hot for me but I feel the coolness in the mornings and I see the promise of Fall all around. I’m so excited! I love, love, Fall! We have a fantastic Fall season here in the Northwest and I’m ready! I’m looking longingly at my sweaters and boots ( I hope I can wear them!)

Tomorrow’s Shoot – I get to hang out on a lake tomorrow and photograph people water skiing and playing and hanging out on the dock. It’s going to be so much fun!! These are my favorite types of sessions. I can’t wait to share the sneak peeks. It’s My Birthday – It’s true, today is my birthday. Time just keeps marching on and I just keep getting older.  So Happy Birthday to me! 

Friday is Jeff’s Birthday – Yep, we are birthday buddies. 🙂
