Happy Birthday To Us
Jeff and I decided to take full advantage of the fact that our birthdays fell right in the middle of Labor Day weekend and left town. We rented a “cabin” on the Sandy river up on Mt. Hood and spent the weekend hiking, reading, eating and relaxing! It was a wonderful break! We really enjoyed that our “get-away” was less than an hour from home.
New trails to hike were discovered we revisited old favorite trails and discovered new ones we plan to explore next time. Jeff and I spent time just sitting next to the river talking and reading. Huckleberry Inn was just up the road in Government Camp. In my opinion they have the BEST hot chocolate! So on my birthday we went there and I made the most of my day and indulged in a maple bar as well.
The weather was perfect for hiking. Lucy was thrilled to be included and made the most of her weekend as well. She probably hiked double what we did and she definitely got more swimming in!
Exploring Mt. Hood
The Thursday before we left I made the leap and purchased my first mirrorless camera. So I lugged my new camera (Nikon Z72) up the trails to practice with it. It is a completely different way of shooting and I’m having fun learning it. Since I didn’t have any clients along to practice on I mostly photographed Mt. Hood which put on a beautiful show for us!
Happy Birthday to my Mom!
I would also like to say Happy Birthday Mom! Today is her birthday! Yes if your keeping track our son, dog, Jeff and I and now my Mom have all had birthdays in the past two weeks! Sadly, I haven’t had a single bite of birthday cake! 🙂
Thanks for stopping by!
