This heat makes it difficult to believe that this Saturday is Sept 1! Which means my Fall Family Sessions are booking right now! Fall in the Northwest is a special time. We are blessed with amazing weather and gorgeous colors which add to our already breathtaking scenery.
This is how we handled the heat at the end of this weeks shoot! Thank goodness for a large fountain with a waterfall!
But let’s ignore the heat and talk about booking your Fall Family Session today!
Availability
Already I have every Sunday in September booked. I have 2 left in October. There are a few holes where I can schedule two in a day and I still have plenty of availability if a week night is an option for your family. My sessions are starting a 6 right now but as the sun sets earlier that will soon be moved to 5 or 5:30. Fall is a very popular time of year for Family Sessions and for good reasons. Along with the gorgeous scenery it is also back to school time. Family sessions include individual shots of each member.
Reasons For
Have you ever wished you had a photo of a specific person or time in your life? Photography documents life’s journey. Let’s face it we are all moving forward and there is no stopping this march. I turn 51 next week! What the heck? I’m still traumatized by 50 and now I’m “in my 50s” ugh.
Besides the documentation aspect of pictures, there are the practicalities of it. Professional Portraits give you some awesome home interior options for your walls. They also make for amazing gifts to loved ones near or far. Whether the gift are the portraits themselves or a gift certificate for their own session.
How to Prep
When my client families reach out to me, I do everything I can to make the process go smoothly. Usually there are many questions and even concerns. It is part of my job to discuss all of these concerns with you until you feel confident and ready to go.
First, we discuss dates for your session. Then, we move on to location options, what you will wear and how each session works. This works best when we can meet at the studio. If that isn’t convenient we can always work out the details via phone or email. You have my cell number and are welcome to text or call with any and all questions you may have. I get it, I do this all the time some of you haven’t done it in awhile. I am here to help.
My number one goal is for your family session to be fun!

First I will start with my own families pictures. Yes, it’s true I hired a professional photographer (thank you Irina Negrean) last year to take our families portraits. I am so glad I did! I have lots of pictures of the boys and Jeff but very few of myself. It was important to me that there was evidence that I existed in this family!
