Christmas Minis at Shelly Fry Photography

What I’m Doing

I am jumping right into the holiday season with my 3rd annual Christmas Minis Sessions here at the studio.   It was so fun having a full studio all day. With families coming and going, Christmas music playing and of course lots of pictures being taken. There were matching Pjs, Christmas Sweaters with even the pups in matching clothes!!

Christmas Minis

In preparation for Sunday’s Minis I recruited my Mom and we spent Friday decorating the studio. So here I am almost 2 full weeks before Thanksgiving and I’m all decked out for Christmas. That’s what being a business owner does to you! However, I love helping my clients by making sure they get their images in plenty of time for their holiday needs. All galleries from Sunday’s sessions were in everyone’s email boxes by noon on Tuesday! Whew!

Pre-Op appointment –

This surgery is getting real. Monday morning I went to see my podiatrist to discuss the upcoming surgery. If you follow me on IG you have the benefit of having seen the lovely blister I developed while walking in DC. It wasn’t the first time I had developed a blister like that, although it was the biggest. I asked him about that. Turns out my 5th and 4th toes are “hammer toes” (sexy I know) and he suggested that we just go ahead and operate on those as well. So I’m bumped up from a 1 toe surgery to 3. Merry Christmas to me.

What I’m Reading –

Yikes!!! It’s just not happening in my life right now! This NEVER happens but my schedule has been so crazy lately. Add in the time change and then spending 5 days on the East coast and I just can’t keep my eyes open past 9!

I started “The Spy and The Traitor” before I left on my trip but didn’t take it with me.

When I got home I realized Book Club was coming up fast (next Monday) and I better get into this months pick. “House of Gold” by Natasha Solomons. I have read exactly 59 of 433 pages! I hope I can get it read.

My Current Favorite – Chocolate covered pretzels.

One of the holiday treats we offered everyone during the mini sessions were (milk) chocolate covered pretzels. Most likely I ate the most!

Seriously, what can I do to get rid of my sweet tooth. Once I have this surgery my activity level is going to tank so I need to develop some self-control ASAP

Goal Check

Delivery of all mini sessions within 48 hours. Nailed it!

What I’m Photographing

I only have a few more sessions before my forced vacation but things are piling up here at the end and I’m am so thankful!

Pastor Rick –

My church family has been very blessed by the ministry of Rick and Sharman for the past 15 years. This past weekend we (his church) celebrated his upcoming retirement at the end of this year. I have really appreciated and valued their ministry and friendship. Happily they aren’t moving away but their leadership will be missed!

Christmas Minis-

5 kids with 3 dogs, no problem. 6 teenage BFFS, piece of cake. 1 year old who prefers cookies to picture taking, breezy, a pup that gives hugs, amazing!

I love Christmas mini session days! But I am not gonna lie I came home and hit the bed for a good hour before I made myself get up and begin editing!

Last Family Session of the year for me-

Happens this Sunday. It has been a wild busy, crazy, super fun Fall season and I’m so grateful for all the opportunities I’ve had as a photographer! While my foot will keep me from any formal shoots in December I plan to be back at in January and of course I will still be doing all the other things us photographer do when we aren’t behind the camera.

Finale-

My last official shoot of the year is going to be a very special engagement session. I can’t wait!
