Astoria Wedding Weekend!
It was perfect! Our Astoria Wedding weekend could not have gone better! I will admit to worrying about the weather. Who wouldn’t? Heather and Colin were game for a first look on the beach, the only thing that could prevent it would be wind, rain, heavy fog – all things VERY common on the Oregon Coast.
Turns out Astoria was THE place to be last weekend! Colin and Heather were up for all the locations!! We had a blast. First look at the beach where we took advantage of calm winds, empty beaches and great photo opportunities. Later the wedding party joined us and they posed with sea grass, wide open beaches and Colin’s Japanese imported cars!
Next we headed up to the Astoria column where we took advantage of the amazing views of Astoria and the bridge. It was fun walking around with Heather in her gorgeous gown. So many people would stop and call out their congratulations to the happy couple.
After we were finished up at the Column the bridal party left and we took some other shots around Astoria before heading back to the venue.
Wedding Time!
I always make sure the bride and groom get back at least 30 min before the ceremony so they can freshen up before the ceremony. The Venue was beautiful! With river views the airy vaulted room was a great space for a wedding. Here is a link to the website. https://www.theredbuildingloft.com/
The wedding was relaxed, beautiful and fun. The groom’s sister did the flowers and they were stunning! The food was yummy and everyone was happy!
But there was one more fun location for us to take advantage of! After the wedding it was Trolley time! Heather and Colin had reserved the Astoria Trolley just for their wedding! Before the guests went for their ride the wedding party had it all to themselves for our photo shoot. I got to tell the conductor where I wanted to go and when to stop for photos. It was such a unique experience as a photographer and I loved every minute of it!
This was my first destination wedding and I loved it! I love the challenge of finding unique locations which can add so much to pictures! My goal for this wedding shoot was to first of all capture the love and happiness in the day. I then wanted to make sure the images told the story of where the wedding took place.
Happy Birthday Preslie!
Our niece turns 17 today! I love this brilliant, athletic, fun girl so much! With straight A’s and wicked softball skills, she is one talented young lady! I am so proud of her! It is a shock to realize she will be a Senior in the Fall! I am so excited to be her photographer for her Senior Session next month!
Thanks for stopping by friends!
