My Everyday

Honestly, I would not have survived the last year without beginning {my every day}with devotions. Life has been scary in some ways and I’m so thankful that I have finally settled into a routine that includes beginning {my every day}with Him! Reminding myself every morning that I am not alone and He is with me is what gets me through! And with the gorgeous summer we are having I am enjoying that time on my back porch with my trusty mug of chai tea 😎
Home
Oh happy day! My boy had a day {home} with us! Life is wild right now. The change dramatic! I just can’t get to the place where it feels “normal” to not have my children {home} with me. Or the fact that my “children” are now adults. {Home} feels different when there are two empty bedrooms in it. I wonder if we will stay in our {home} or if we will move? I love our {home} I love the memories it is filled with. But I do wonder what the future holds.

Sunny summer, sand, salty, seashells, sunset – Got them all in this picture! A nice evening stroll – I thought it looked best in B/W . I love summer! I’m thankful for the opportunity to be outside all the time! But I will admit I’m tired of the HEAT – this happens every year. I just get worn out. I start to long for a coolness to the air, the occasional need for a sweater or long pants. I am in no way suggesting I’m done with sunshine and warmth because I’m not – I just need a break every once in awhile! I’m a girl who needs variety!
Sweaty also {begins with S} and we did some sweating on Sunday when we rode in the Bridge Peddle in Portland
Its a fun/frustrating ride – Frustrating only in the sense that there are approximately 20,000 bike riders and bottle necks are unavoidable (apparently)
But fun in more ways – We were the fist bike riders allowed to cross the new Tilikum Crossing bridge which is really a pretty bridge! They told us not to stop so I took this while riding slowly in a crowd of riders and I’m amazed I didn’t fall over!
The other super fun part of the ride is that they close the Marquam and Freemont Bridges just for us! It so cool to be riding down the middle of the bridge and not have a single car to worry about!
It’s also fun to stop at the top walk around the freeway, look over the sides of the bridges, take pictures, grab a snack at the booths set up etc. Its such a unique experience.
They don’t close all the bridges – some there is only a lane closed but even that is a lovely luxury! This is Jeff riding in front as we cross the St. Johns Bridge.
35ish miles later we crossed the finish line! All sweaty but smiling!
And they gave us ice cream! What a deal!
