Shelly Fry Photography and Beethoven
I really enjoyed this opportunity. If you know Matt you know…He’s an interesting fellow and a lot of fun! So I didn’t even bat an eye when he sent me the picture on the left and said he wanted to duplicate it. I was excited to accept the challenge. I’m happy to report that he is happy with the results. So I can now add to my portfolio “Beethoven”. So if anyone else is in the market to recreate pictures of themselves as composer or any other historical characters give me a call!
If you need a mortgage company I highly recommend Matt and the Elerding Team https://www.homebridge.com/loan-originator/matt-elerding/
Last Minute Change
Oh man it was a hot one this weekend! Originally I was scheduled to shoot a wedding on Sunday. Admittedly I was not excited about photographing in 100 degrees! It was exactly a year ago I had photographed my all time hottest wedding when we set a record at 113! Click here to see that wedding https://shellyfryphotography.com/my-everyday/heat-wave-shelly-fry-photography
Seeing the forecast for 100 on Sunday had me thinking I should avoid booking and future weddings on the last weekend of June! Unfortunately for the Bride and Groom they both tested positive for Covid on Friday. Just two days before their wedding day! Now the wedding is rescheduled for October. I felt very bad for the couple I can’t imagine how frustrating this was for them! Happily it seems everyone involved has been able to reschedule.
With an unexpected free Sunday Jeff and I left at 6am and drove up to Sioux Falls trail. We figured with the forecasted heat an early start would be best. While the ride up in the Jeep with the top down was a tad chilly overall the early morning coolness was perfect.
We hadn’t hiked this trail since the fires. I love the contrast of the bright green new growth against the blackened trees. While it’s always sad to see the destruction of a forest fire its amazing how a forest will repair itself. Its a beautiful hike!
SFP News
Shelly Fry Photography also publishes a monthly newsletter. Tomorrow is July 1st and those who have signed up will wake up to their monthly edition of SFP News. While there is some crossover between the blog and newsletter I do save some juicy tidbits just for my newsletter friends. An example is my book reviews. Please don’t grade me on my review writing skills. I simply give a short opinion (not a scholarly one) of the books I have read each month. There are usually 4 per month (this month 5!). The only place you will find these not so scholarly reviews is in the newsletter. If you enjoy reading and are looking for some book recommendations click this link and sign up for your monthly edition. http://madmimi.com/signups/f92831e48f4c4758a38ad3779e2d9f9b/join
