See Ya 2021 – Shelly Fry Photography

Here we are in the final days of 2021. I know most of us began this year with high hopes that the pandemic would soon become a memory and belong only to 2020. While we live with the reality of what we continue to experience I know we all have had many blessings along with the frustrations this year. I hope you can take some time each day to focus on the blessings that you experienced each day. I understand that some days can be a real challenge. But I believe it’s true, there is something to be thankful for each and every day.

Move – Update Heading out of 2021 and into 2022

All is going smoothly and we are planning on moving next week! EEEEKKKKK!! After making the decision to hold off on any major packing until after Christmas I found myself running around Sunday packing away all of my holiday decorations. Next up, my books. I am proud of my library. I have what some would call an unhealthy obsession with books. It doesn’t matter, they make me happy! Boxing them all up is a real chore! So far I have 20 boxes of books packed and while I’m almost done,  I still have more to pack.  Packing will fill my days! I’ve also started on the kitchen which will be my least favorite!

It will be another week before I will have full access to my new studio which is actually a blessing. I can just focus on the house move and then, on Jan 11, I will be moving into my studio! Stay tuned for an announcement regarding an open studio day. I’m shooting for the last Sunday in February! I can’t wait to invite you all over for a tour!

The nesting urge is very strong in me right now! I am so impatient!

Happy Anniversary 2021!

33 years and counting! In the midst of all this Jeff and I snuck off to Fidalgo Island up in the Puget Sound to celebrate our anniversary. We stayed in a lovely cabin overlooking the water. It was very stormy when we arrived and 10 min after arriving the power went out! How romantic!

1988-2021

We did a lot of fun hiking, eating out, and exploring. The highlight was Jeff arranged for us to do some glass blowing. It was a blast and we each came away with Christmas ornaments to help us remember our experience. If you’ve never done glass blowing I highly recommend it! It was a really fun and fascinating experience! A weekend away was just what we needed! What made it better was knowing Josh and Jocelyn were waiting for us when we got home!

Christmas 2021

My FB memories had me feeling melancholy this year.  We were a smaller than usual bunch this year. Some who usually celebrate with us have moved on or moved away and this was our first Christmas without Grammy and Ty flew to CA to be with his fiancé. But again, focusing on the positives, we were very blessed to share the day with our parents and our oldest son and daughter-in-law. We ate too much, played games and watched Christmas Vacation. The snow in the evening topped the day off perfectly!

Christmas 2021

Josh and Jocelyn flew in and spent the entire week before Christmas with us. It was such a blessing to have that much time with them. We hiked in the snow up at Mt. St. Helens, we did some rock climbing, baking, played games, watched Christmas movies and lots of walking the dogs! J&J have a 1 year old lab named Scout who gives Lucy a run for her money! Watching those two frolic in the snow is a lot of fun!

Website Update

I now have an announcement tab on my website and if you look at the cover photo on the home page you will see a ‘We’re Moving” button. If you click that button or the announcements tab it shows you pictures inside and out of the new studio as well as directions. Click here to try it out https://shellyfryphotography.com/announcements  I especially like the QR code. If you open the camera on your phone and hold it up to the QR code it takes you to the new address on Google Maps. Pretty nifty!!

The sign for my Main St. location has been ordered. It will hang in the window announcing the move. The QR code will be printed on it as well.

Snow!!

I hope you love it because we have it! It’s a rare day to have snow here and even rarer for it to be cold enough for it to stick around! I’m loving it! I love how snow can make us pause a minute, alter our routines and just enjoy. Hopefully that’s the case. I know there are some that are not fans of the white stuff out there!

Instagram – 1000k!

Hey guess what! I finally hit the 1000 followers mark on IG! What does that mean? Absolutely nothing! But it was a fun mile-marker to hit. I was hanging out at 998 forever! If you would like to follow me on IG here is a link to my page. I share the personal fun stuff mostly on my stories and my business side I post.
