Adventure –
Now that my sons are grown they both love to hike. There was however a time in their lives when mom and dad headed for the hills with them in the back seat and the car would be filled with the sounds of two very unhappy kids. Once I realized the word “hike” trigged them I tried switching it to “get in the car kids we are headed out on an ADVENTURE!” I believe that only worked once…
I have always loved the word Adventure – it’s loaded with possibilities and expectations. One of my favorite things in the world is heading out without any real plan. Just a general direction and in the best case scenario, unlimited time (and snacks!). For me Adventure always includes physical activity and if I’m lucky, somewhere I really love or somewhere I’ve never been before. Having the opportunity in life to discover, explore, challenge and enjoy life is a real gift.
Adventure is something that I would love to have part of my every day and I’m thrilled when I get to include it in my photo sessions. For some people they love the idea of having a photo session in their beautiful yards or favorite parks and I truly love those as well. Most of my photo sessions are at my clients homes or in the PDX/Vancouver area. But sometimes people feel like doing something a bit different. That is where Adventure Sessions come in.
Adventure Sessions
These sessions are for those who are looking for something a bit more “Adventurous” for their photo session. Perhaps you love the idea of having a photo session while you are doing your favorite activity. Think Skiing, snowboarding, boating, biking, hiking, canoeing, paddle boarding, rock climbing, the list is endless. Or perhaps you love the idea of having a photo shoot at your favorite location – your cabin up at the lake or your favorite beach. Adventure sessions are designed with your interests in mind. Do you love to go 4-wheeling at the dunes? Fly fishing in a river? Mountain biking through the forest?
These sessions are relaxed and get to fully reflect you in your most exciting backdrop.
So to Sum up – Adventure or not to Adventure
Either way I would love to photograph you! Honestly, for me every session feels like an Adventure. I’m getting to know you, I’m having a blast picking out backdrops, poses and capturing connections as they naturally present themselves. No two photo sessions are the same, which is why I will never get bored!

SFP News – March Edition
The March edition hit inboxes on the 1st. If you’d like to receive a monthly newsletter click here http://madmimi.com/signups/f92831e48f4c4758a38ad3779e2d9f9b/join
The purpose of the monthly newsletter to keep those who are interested in SFP informed of what is going on. I have found many of my clients are not always on social media or have left it all together. The monthly newsletter is a way I strive to connect and let people know what is going on. The newsletter shares my work, a bit of my life, what I’m reading and information regarding photography.
I promise not to fill your inbox with multiple emails each month. It’s only once per month. Unless I screw up like I did this month. For those of you who received two emails on the same day I apologize. I was attempting to send the newsletter only to those who had just recently signed up and you all got a second send. Woops!
Thanks friends!
Shelly
