Hi Friends,
Life is full right now and I’m thankful. I light my pumpkin spice candle each day and start the mornings with sweaters before I have to change back to t-shirts and shorts. It’s the best of both worlds right now!
I’ve had a busy shoot schedule and I’m working on prepping for mini sessions this week. Most of my days are spent working on the business, shooting, editing, traveling, gathering, preparing, designing albums etc. I am very thankful to be busy right now!
This week I’m just going to highlight some of the past weeks shoots.
Sam is a Senior at CAA this year. We hung out at WSU and even though I had to tease him about that Laker’s jersey (go Blazers!) we had a good time walking around choosing different backdrops for his shots.
I was absolutely thrilled to meet Daphney! I’ve known her parents for a long time and I was so excited to see their beautiful addition! She is just the prettiest baby! Such a special session!
Wedding at the base of a waterfall!!!
Sign me up!! This was a spectacular spot for a small intimate wedding! The wedding was literally held in the middle of the stream with flowers tucked among the rocks! It wasn’t only the setting that was beautiful it was also very special to see two people who have loved each other for a very long time to finally become husband and wife! I would love to do more shoots here. Its about an hour and 15 min from Battle Ground, east on Hwy 14. If you know where Dog Mountain is its just past there at Dog Creek. I’ve driven by many times I had no clue there is a waterfall there and its only about 100 yards from the parking area!
Evan Class of 2021 – 4 long years ago I met Evan’s sister when I took her senior pictures. I love having the opportunity to work with a family throughout the years! Now it’s Evan’s turn! Since Evan’s brother tagged along I put him to work making Evan smile and even had him in a few shots! What handsome men!
Ella – Class of 2021 – Patience pays off! Finally after 2 other dates this was Ella’s week to have her Senior session. First the wind storm cancelled her session, then wildfire smoke. But as I always say, it will work out, it always does! We had a beautiful session up in La Center. I really appreciated Ella’s easy smile and great attitude!
I finished my week off with another barnyard shoot. Yep, 2 llamas, a baby pig, a goat and two sheep. I love the variety my job offers! It keeps me on my toes!
Also, I did this –
I’m pretty sure my updated website will go live this week. One of the things we’ve been waiting on was new pictures of me. It was a challenge for me to feel comfortable in front of the camera! I’m happily back behind the camera where I feel much more at home. I am thankful to Missy Fant Photography for taking good care of me and suggesting a great location for our session. Check out Missy’s website here https://missyfantphotography.com/
Thank you!
I’m so grateful for my full calendar and all of the amazing people I meet and get to photograph! This weekend I will be meeting several new families during our Fall mini sessions. I have the straw bales, corn stalks and pumpkins all ready to go! I am so excited!
My hope is that you have the opportunity to take some time to enjoy the beauty that surrounds us. Whether its lighting a Fall scented candle, going for a walk, reading a few pages in a good book or signing along to a favorite song, take some time for you during this hectic time in life.
Thanks for stopping by friends!
Shelly
