What I’m Doing – Best of Clark County 2020
Asking for your help!
Hello Friends! It is that time of year again! I am asking for your help. You guys were so amazing with your support last year and it meant the world to me! Would you be willing to take just a couple of minutes to nominate Shelly Fry Photography again this year? While there, look around and take some time to nominate your favorite Clark County businesses. Small businesses really benefit from this kind of exposure and the support and love just simply feels amazing!! Once you’ve voted would you also share this post? With enough nominations Shelly Fry Photography will make it to the top 5 where the real fun begins. But I can’t get there without nominations. Thank you!

What I’m Photographing
The weather Sunday was wild! One minute the sun was shining the next it was hailing! That’s what happens when you are a photographer in the NW! I was excited to have a gorgeous University Senior to photograph. Kim is from Southern CA so I wanted to find backgrounds that looked warm and sunny – a bit of a challenge in February in the NW.
It doesn’t matter what background I put Kim in front of, her stunning smile warms things up! Kim graduates from University in just 4 short months. She is excited to use these gorgeous images on her graduation announcements to send to all of her family and friends.
After our morning Senior Session we grabbed some breakfast and then I headed to the studio. For a Professional Head Shot session. No worries about the weather at the studio!
The sunny days have reminded people that it’s time to schedule Spring sessions and my calendar is slowly filling up.
What I’m Reading –
Book Club! This week was our monthly book club gathering. We discussed Dear Edward by Ann Napolitano, I wrote about this book a few weeks ago on the blog click here if you’d like a reminder. https://shellyfryphotography.com/my-everyday/spring-photography-with-shelly-fry-photography
Our book club changed things up a bit this month and we each had a couple of minutes to give our general thoughts and insights regarding the book. Our usual style is to have a free-for-all discussion. While I found it challenging to keep quiet during other people’s time, it was great to hear the various aspects we each found interesting about this book. We all gave it a thumbs up and I highly recommend it!
Yes, it deals with flying and a plane crash. Which as it turns out, most of us have anxiety over and/or we have lost loved ones to. Those facts make the book even more thought provoking and personal in a different way for each reader.
My Current Favorite –
My magazine is here! I’ve had the opportunity to show the new SFP Magazine to a few people and the most consistent question is, “what will you do with it?”
Share it of course! While I realize we live in the digital world I believe I am not alone in thinking that having something in hand to flip through still makes a bigger impact!
The magazine just gives me another, and I believe, more personal way to highlight the work I do and the services I offer.
I used Ink Ability to print the magazine and Mac Ford helped me design it. I love collaborating with local businesses! There is something so satisf_ying in doing business face to face with people you know and trust! If you have printing needs I highly recommend Ink Ability right here in Battle Ground and if you have any design needs or if your in the market for unique and sweet cards, note pads etc Mac Ford’s designs are top notch!

Goal Check-
I am hitting my marketing goals! Hooray!
My foot seems not to be progressing the past few weeks so today I begin Physical Therapy in hopes of pushing past this.
I finally attended a networking meeting last week. Sometimes I can feel so intimidated in those situations. I’m so glad I made myself go! Not only did I learn valuable information but everyone was very friendly and welcoming.
Thank you so much for stopping by!
