The Northwest is about to burst out with all of it’s gorgeous October glory! Thankfully I have the opportunity to capture some of that beauty this month!
This weeks blog will look a bit different. Between all of my shoots, editing, and album designing, I also just published the October edition of SFP News on Tuesday. Here is a link if you would like to join the community http://madmimi.com/signups/f92831e48f4c4758a38ad3779e2d9f9b/join
Now would be an Awesome time to join. This months addition is offering an opportunity to get in on Minis that I will not be announcing on social media for awhile yet. Newsletter subscribers get first shot at them. If mini sessions (quick fun, less expensive) is something you have been waiting for hop over and join the SFP News community.
October is Photographer Appreciation Month
This amuses me but I’m game! What that looks like exactly I have no idea but joining my newsletter would make me feel very appreciated!!!
This week on the blog
So this week will have a different format.
Since last week I’ve had 5 sessions and it’s been awesome. I’m not going to lie, on more than one of those occasions I have been driving to meet my clients with an anxiety attack and not so nice words for the forecasters out there. Happily, every session took place and they all look gorgeous! I could just do without the stress and uncertainty! I guess it’s the price of living in the NW. Something Jordan and her mom Mindy fully understood. They won the prize for having Jordan’s photo shoot in the Gorge on a record breaking weather day for the month of September. It was the coldest high temp in September ever. Hooray!
Seniors
With yearbook deadlines looming I will be about done with my Senior Sessions until Spring. This year I have had several of my seniors comment on how they just aren’t interested in having pictures taken but are doing it for Mom or Grandma or someone else other than themselves. Which I think is very nice of them! But I consider it a victory when every time (no lie) at some point during the session they look at me and say “This is Fun!” Not once have any of them regretted it!
Of course I have Seniors who are excited about their sessions and I’m happy to report they also have fun! It’s meant to be fun.
Families
As the Senior Sessions wrap up I am seeing more and more Fall Family Sessions. October is PRIME time for family sessions. I enjoy talking about locations choices. I’ve spent a lot of time exploring this area and I know where the NW is showing off to its fullest.
Miss Maryn was so much fun during her family’s shoot! She stole the show!
Now that we have had a couple of nights dip into the 30’s the colors are really gonna turn on.
Before heading to the Gorge Sunday afternoon Jeff and I drove up to Cathlamet for a family shoot on this gorgeous property!! It rained right up to their driveway! Thankfully we got a break to get our session in. I loved exploring their property which included over grown barns, a river, gorgeous fields and gorgeous trees! Their two dogs Tiny and Lucky were more than happy to join in the fun.
The Holder’s were such a fun loving family! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. The best part of my job is meeting new people! I love how my circle is widening. Today I ran into Michele and Ainsley at the Groomers. Last week they would have been strangers this week they were friends I was surprised and happy to see.
Head Shots
I have also had a few studio head shot sessions this week.
If you are in the need for head shots they are 20 min sessions. I have a variety of back drops and even outside options if you prefer natural light.
And just to round things off I also did a Real Estate shoot. Why not?
Today I’m heading to Bend for the weekend and I’m super excited to have a weekend with both of my sons and their girls as well as lots of other friends. There will be food, chai, climbing, biking, hiking and Fall picture taking of the gorgeous scenery Bend has to offer.
Don’t forget to sign up for the newsletter with the link above.
Thanks Friends,
