Family Fun Fry Style – Shelly Fry Photography

Hi Friends,

It’s Wednesday night and I haven’t even thought about this weeks blog! This past week has been a blur of birthdays, engagements, weddings and a house full of family and friends. Our family is growing and life is good!  It has been so much fun but I’m tired! I’m trying to get back into the normal rhythm of life so bear with me!

Birthdays #1 and #2

First, we celebrated Tyler and Lucy’s birthdays last Thursday. We ate at the Cervezza Factory in BG. Not my favorite but it is Ty’s. Lucy just got extra love and we kept saying “Happy Birthday” to her.  It’s true, no special dog treats or toys. She’s terribly abused.

An Engagement

Friday evening Josh and Jocelyn flew in from Boise!! We knew there were big plans afoot and Jeff and I were terrified we would say something to spoil the surprise!

At 5:30 am these two headed out to climb Mt. St. Helens. Josh worked some magic and was able to get two permits to climb. He had a ring in his pack and big plans for the top! Happily Jocelyn accepted his proposal and now we are in wedding planning mode!

We had the opportunity to spend some time with Jocelyn’s family the Griffins. We sat around chatting waiting for the kids to get back from their adventure. They arrived home from the mountain with tears and huge grins.  It was absolutely my favorite moment of the weekend. After hanging out for awhile we headed to Spaghetti Factory in Portland and then on to the Timbers game. Tyler and Kim joined us for the game and it was awesome to have everyone together.

Friends and Family

We have had a whirlwind of family and friends lately and I absolutely love it!

Birthdays #3 and #4

Jeff and I have birthdays back to back. So we had to do some more celebrating! I even rented the entire theater for Jeff  😉   Life comes at you so fast! I wasn’t even adjusted to being 50 and now I’m 51! What the heck!!!

I got a sweet water fountain for the back patio for my birthday and I love the lights and bubbly sounds it makes.

It wasn’t without incident of course. I thought how handy our Jeep is with the top down when you buy tall stuff. Along with the fountain we also purchased a tall metal trellis. We loaded it up in the Jeep and I tried to drive into the garage with it! Yikes that scared me to death! The trellis is bent (we fixed it) The siding is damaged (working on fixing it) but most importantly the Jeep wasn’t hurt!! 🙂

I hope you guys had an awesome Labor Day! Here comes Fall ready or not!

Shelly
