What I’m Doing – Hello Summer!
It certainly feels like Summer! With sunny skies and a packed schedule there certainly seems to be a shift in the season. This past week was full of family gatherings, meeting my Great-Niece, Hiking and Photography. Which has made for a very busy week. I love being busy and having a full calendar but I’m not gonna lie, I’m tired!!
Saturday my husband and I headed up to Silver Star. We did that hike last summer and things were very different. For one, I was still suffering with plantar fasciitis, so it was a painful hike. We also didn’t have our Jeep. Last year we had to pull off and walk an additional two miles to the trail head because of the massive ruts and ravines in the road. But not this year baby!!! We had so much fun driving the Jeep on the back roads, bumps, ditches, boulders and all. And yes, I will admit, I did worry a bit about scratches. But Jeeps are meant to be fun. Otherwise, what is the point?
It’s such a beautiful hike! The views are amazing and the wildflowers stunning! And of course, I’m looking for those adventurous souls that would love a photo shoot at this location.
If you need a ride up you know who to call!
Goal Check – Hello Class of 2020
I am really excited about the Senior sessions I have booked! Next week I will be photographing a Senior out on her property near Battle Ground Lake. We scouted the location last week. Tall grasses, streams, railroad tracks and daisies growing in the fields. Perfect!! The weather has been my friend lately too! Send those Seniors, my way and get yourself a $100 credit towards your next shoot!
I am also busily planning a Senior shoot out at Manzanita. This Senior has an Arabian horse that will be joining us and I am psyched!!! I will be opening up the opportunity for others who may like a Beach Session while I’m there. So If you have August 18th available and have been dreaming of a beach session with your family, for your senior or whoever, let me know and we will get it arranged!
What I’m Reading – The Age of Wonder
Well, I think we have jam. But it may be grape not strawberry… Thankfully it’s not Peanut butter! If you don’t know what I’m talking about click here to catch up. https://shellyfryphotography.com/my-everyday/battle-ground-wa-readers-choice-winner-shelly-fry-photography
I will finish this book by next week and will give you my full review then.
What I’m Photographing – Gorge Session!!!
For about 2 months now I have been trying to find a Senior or Family who would be willing to take me up on a special deal to be photographed in the Gorge at a new (to me) location. Happily I found a family who took me up on the offer and we had the most amazing shoot last Sunday evening.
I was giddy! The weather was a touch windy but the light was magical and the temperature ideal! Jeff and I had so much fun with the Mowery family. We laughed the entire time! I have only just begun editing their pictures. They joked with me during the session that I would only focus on the stunning backdrops and they would be blurry in all the images. I’m happy to report that that is not the case!
If you are looking for an amazing location for your next photo shoot I can help with that!
My {current} Favorite Thing – Nora – I’m in Love…
Grammy has had a rough year but she has had an amazing week. On Sunday she turned 98 surrounded by family and the very next day she finally met sweet Nora. Nora is her Great-Great Granddaughter. Grammy has 4 Grandsons and 3 Great-Grandsons and only one Great-Granddaughter and now Nora is her first Great-Great Grandchild.
I was also THRILLED to finally meet my Great-Niece. She turned one month on Wed and she is perfect! Its amazing how quickly you can fall head over heals in love with someone. I can’t wait to watch her grow and become her own little self.
Happy Summer Friends!
Shelly
