Thankful!
As we wrap up November and roll into December I just want to say again how thankful I am to each of you. To everyone who has supported me these past 8 years as I learned how to be a business owner. This month marks the beginning of my 9th year as a full time photographer/business owner. It is the longest I have ever stayed at one job! I don’t see an end in sight but I do see growth and fresh opportunities that I am bursting to share with you!
November
Last month was full of the unexpected! I also had several photography opportunities and some amazing personal opportunities came my way as well. As I begin this next month and look to the new year, I am really excited about all 2022 holds!
Engaged!!
Our youngest son Tyler proposed the week before Thanksgiving!! We could not be more excited! Kim has become very special to us over the years and we are so thankful these two will be saying I do in 2022!
While I won’t be their wedding photographer I enjoyed taking some quick engagement announcement photos and I look forward to a formal engagement session with them in the future! There is a trick to photographing a 6’4″ man with a 5’1″ woman! With over a foot difference between them it can be challenging for the man to not look hunched. I kicked myself for not bringing along my apple box for her to stand on. But we found poses and rocks to help us out!
I think they are a beautiful couple and again I am so thankful!
2nd Mini Sessions –
This year I offered Mini sessions on 2 different dates. If you missed my post about our first session at Cape Horn click here https://shellyfryphotography.com/my-everyday/mini-sessions-shelly-fry-photography Our second location was up in La Center at Sternwheeler Park.
Once again our November weather cooperated. While it was a bit foggy the light was just right and we were able to capture some beautiful images. I just love this park! The beautiful brick path, bridges, old growth tress and greenery make the perfect backdrops.
I was able to get all galleries delivered within 2 days so everyone has their images for any holiday needs.
Next year I plan to do holiday studio sessions with a theme! I’m already excited!
Thank you to all the families who participated in this years mini sessions.
Terry Twins –
These brother’s are graduating from Hudson Bay HS in June.
Brian plays Baseball for the school team and Matthew runs track.
We decided to begin their sessions at Fort Vancouver which is a short drive from the HS. I loved the challenge of photographing the twins at the same time. Coming up with twice the poses and twice the backdrops so each of their galleries looked unique and not carbon copies of the other. It was a fun and unique experience.
After the Fort we headed back to the HS and I photographed Brian with the baseball field in the background and Matthew on the track.
I really enjoyed the opportunity to incorporate some of their passions into their Senior Session!
Hammond Family
This is my oldest Niece’s beautiful family! They were in town last weekend so we made a quick trip to the studio. This is my first experience of loving a baby all the way up to when she herself has babies. And now I get to love her babies too! It’s an amazing experience! She has married a wonderful man and we enjoy spending time with them so much!
