100 years old!
It boggles the mind to think about the history “Grammy” has lived! She was born June 16, 1921 and yesterday was her 100th birthday! Warren G. Harding was the US President and she has lived to see a total of 18 different men elected to that office in her lifetime. She has lived through several significant events like the Great Depression, WWII, 9/11 and of course our current pandemic to name a very few. Her love and dedication to Jesus and her family has always been powerful and unshakeable. We were grateful to have a small celebration for her yesterday at her care home. She hasn’t been doing well and we honestly didn’t think she would see this birthday. Thankfully yesterday was a good day for her. She knew it was her birthday and we were able to sit outside and enjoy our lunch and cake! One year ago her birthday passed while she was in the hospital. This is a much better way to celebrate!
As my husband said in his FB post yesterday she is a shinning light in this family!
Chuck + Shelley = Love
Last week we headed out to the Gorge for an engagement session. The grasses are tall and the wildflowers are blooming everywhere! Add two people in love and I was in heaven! I delivered their gallery yesterday. As I spent a few hours culling and editing it was very clear that these two people are in love and enjoy each other very much!
I am excited about their upcoming wedding this Fall!
Location: Cape Horn Lookout
Why I like it: I have become a big fan of this location. Here are some of the reasons why
- Accessibility – You can choose to do a long hike up to this area or you can simply drive up and park right next to a gorgeous field and from there it’s a short walk to the view point
- Big grassy field – You can’t go wrong with a grassy field! Bonus – right now there are wildflowers blooming everywhere! Its simply gorgeous!
- Huge old trees – as you walk through the field towards the view point you pass through a gorgeous forest! It has huge trees draped in moss and twisty, curvy, elegance.
- The view point – with sweeping views down the Gorge and across the river you can’t beat it!
- Very few if any people around – It’s always more enjoyable when you have an area to yourself
- Close in – For an Adventure location it’s fairly close in. It only takes about 45 min from Battle Ground to get there.
Are you interested in a BEACH SESSION?
Do you know a 2022 Senior? Has it been a while since your family had a photo session? Do you know someone celebrating an anniversary? Whatever the reason I have a great opportunity for you!
Have you ever thought it would be fun to do a photo shoot at the beach? Normally there is an extra cost involved with booking a beach session. However, I will already be at the coast July 16th for a wedding and I’m spending the night. So, if anyone would like to do a beach session the next day there wouldn’t be a travel charge! I have July 17th open if you are interested shoot me a message and lets get it set up!
I will be in Astoria so it will be the northern Oregon Coast or the Southern Washington Coast. There are many gorgeous areas to choose from! Let’s talk!
Location: North Oregon Coast – any beach north of Cannon Beach would work.
- Cannon Beach
- Seaside
- Ft. Stevens area.
- Another option could be the Southern tip of Long Beach in Illwaco Cape Disappointment area.
Graduation
This week I had my last graduation to photograph. These were 8th graders and its always fun to see them hit this mark in life. They are so excited about heading off to High School and being more grown up! I have been busy sending orders off to my printer and working hard to get these orders returned as soon as possible. It’s always so fun to watch these families celebrate! I’m beginning to feel like such an old timer now that it has been so long since our boys graduated! It’s already been 3 years since they graduated from University! Time does fly by!
Have a great weekend!
