Spring Family Sessions –
Record highs this week! We made it! What a gorgeous Spring we are having! I sincerely hope you have opportunities to step outside and soak it up. Even if you just have to hang your head out the window as you are driving to and from.
It was so fun to meet the Rule Family. I could relate to this mother of two sons. I was amazed at their energy and tried to assure her that they do indeed grow up! This was their first family sessions since little brother arrived. She was concerned that they would be a bit rowdy for the session. I told her no worries! That’s why we choose to shoot at the Fort with the wide open fields. The boys took full advantage of running, climbing and that is when I went into action. Capturing their true selves and not some posed version.
I would love to book your Spring family session while the flowers are blooming and the grass is green! Its a magical time of year here in the NW!
Notes from a Mom’s heart
I ordered graduation announcements for both of my sons today. It’s so final! College graduation. I’m so proud of them but it is such a weird space to be in as a Mom.
I remember so clearly when they were still so little. They held my hand to cross a street, because I was certain some unexplainable urge would overcome them and they would fling themselves in front of an oncoming vehicle…
They have been men for awhile now. They have been away to college. I had anticipated that. Tried to prepare my mom heart for the empty nest. But I never really thought beyond graduation day. Because when you send your kids off to college you are hoping they don’t screw up or give up or get lost along the way and that they do ultimately achieve the goal of that blessed diploma.
But I never thought beyond that point. Graduation day. I now see that for at least one of my sons that means moving away…permanently, to another state no less.. Sigh…
But that is the way it’s supposed to go. We work so hard at raising them so they can successf_ully go off into the world on their own. But then we cry our eyes out when they do!
Thanks for stopping by friends,
Shelly
