Here we are, two weeks away from Christmas Day! I am doing my best to live in the moment, savor this season, and not let it rush by me. In today’s post, I want to share with you some of the Holiday Photo Sessions I have been doing. Along with our big Holiday Mini Session Day, a few families have requested studio sessions. When the family gathers, it is a special time. I love having the opportunity (and a dry, cozy studio) to help you capture these precious times.
Holiday Mini Sessions 2025
Each year, the holiday photo sessions begin with a huge bang. Always scheduled for the weekend before Thanksgiving. This year, we had a full schedule as we welcomed families all day long. As usual, we had a few adorable dogs come along with their families, but this year we had something brand new. Two of our families brought kitties! I’m happy to report that everyone (two-legged as well as four-legged) had a good time. Many clients commented on how they love how quickly and smoothly the photo session goes. After their twenty-minute session, many like to hang around and enjoy some yummy snacks before they head off for whatever the day holds for them.
I was able to follow through, and every gallery was delivered before noon on Tuesday. Giving families plenty of time to order their cards and holiday gifts. This makes for an intense three days for me. It is such a feeling of accomplishment when that last gallery is sent!
I am so grateful for the help of my amazing friend Becky and loyal hubby Jeff for their assistance all day. This was my 5th Holiday Mini session day in a row. I’m already looking forward to next year. Here is a peek at some of what was captured on that day.

The Pogue Family
This beautiful family wasn’t able to attend the mini session day but we were able to squeeze them in later that week for their own holiday family session.

I absolutely loved how my new holiday background looked in the photos this year!
The Van De Weges -Holiday Family Session

This family was so much fun! They had a special request and I was thrilled I could honor it. They were gathering not only for Thanksgiving but to celebrate a very special person’s 80th birthday! I loved their energy! When they asked for some goofy poses I was there for it! I can’t always promise to be available for a Thanksgiving morning session. Thankfully I was able to do it this year for this amazing family. Having a warm dry studio space is something to be thankful for.
The Brody Family

Many people I know (including myself) have had kids move across the country this year. It’s a hard part of them growing up. Man is it special when they can come home for a visit! This family was happy to have everyone together for Thanksgiving this year! We were lucky enough for dry weather and took full advantage of it for their session.
I have one family on the schedule during Christmas break. I do have availability around Christmas time if you are looking for an opportunity to be photographed with your loved ones.
Thanks for stopping by!
Shelly
