This week’s blog is going to highlight a family session. As a family photographer, I get to meet the best people! I received a huge bonus with this session when the baby gave me snuggles!
But first, how was your 4th of July?
Jeff and I headed to the beach. I packed a picnic and we made a very quick stop in Cannon Beach https://cannonbeachbakery.com/ for my favorite maple bar and then snagged a parking spot at Hug Point. These things were huge victories for me! Donuts sell out and parking lots fill up (especially on holiday weekends). Yes, I’m a bit of a maple bar snob. They are my favorite donut (dessert) and many places don’t do it right. So when I am in the vicinity of a great maple bar I’m getting one!

We spent all day at the beach and it was lovely! I remembered the days when we would host a 4th of July party at our house. Our family and friends would gather and we had a great time. This year family was spread out all over the place. That’s what happens when kids grow up.
Family Photography – Levitt Family
While my family was spread out. The Levitt family gathered. They live on opposite coasts from each other. These excited grandparents were thrilled to have some quality time with their family. Look at those precious grandbabies! I really understand what it means to live so far apart from those you love.
Grandma decided this was a perfect opportunity to find a family photographer and have some professional family portraits taken. After a quick Google search she found me. I was welcomed to their beautiful home for the session. The grandsons were just adorable! I even got to hold the 6 month old who gave me the sweetest cuddles! This is such a lovely family. It was special to spend some time with them.

If you have an opportunity to be with family this Summer and would like some photos I would love to help you with that! Family sessions are designed with each family in mind. I have a few package options. Here is a link to my pricing page https://shellyfryphotography.com/investment-in-photography-is-investing-in-something-that-will-last
Family Photographer – How I Can Help
One of the top questions I am asked about is where a session should take place. A question that I love to help with! The PNW is were I grew up. I raised kids here. I am naturally an explorer and as a result, I know places! My priority is to make sure that a location suits the people I will be photographing. I love an adventure and I can also appreciate when people want their lovely homes for their location.
Sometimes people prefer to stay close to home. Sometimes it is there home or a nearby park. Other times they are excited to hear about the locations I know about.

This weekend I had a session scheduled at a stunning location in the Gorge. Sadly, my clients got sick and my photo shoot turned into a picnic for Jeff and I. If you are looking for a session featuring the natural beauty of the Gorge this one is ideal! After our picnic Jeff and I explored the entire area.

This location would work for family, senior, engagement, you name it. Let me know if you are interested. I would love to set something up with you. The views, the wildflowers, the golden hour lighting was all magical!

And if you are in need of a photographer for next years graduates I would love to work with you! Now is the time to book your session! I have availability this Summer and I am booking into September at this point.

If you have any photography needs don’t hesitate to reach out. I am happy to answer questions.
Thanks for stopping by,
Shelly
