Landscapes

Being a photographer isn’t a hobby for me. It’s not a side job I do in my spare time. This is my job and I’m trying very hard to be successf_ul and contribute to the family budget. I’ve discovered quickly the need to “diversify” as much as possible in order to make it. This suits my personality perfectly! In addition to taking portraits of families and individuals I also take landscapes. I LOVE to wander and in my wanderings I often come across some of the most beautiful scenery! Through the wonderful magic of photography it doesn’t have to be lost to me when I leave. I can capture it, keep it, print it and share with others.

I actually began with landscapes. My first website was just landscapes but I missed PEOPLE! Landscapes are quiet and serene but I can only take so much of that and then I need people in my life! I’m a social person not a hermit!  😉

I have experimented with printing my pictures on different surfaces. I have come to learn that certain pictures ,when printed on a specific surfaces, can move to an entire new level of AWWWWW 😎 when printed on a surface that “suits them”.

I have printed on Birch-wood when the picture looks to me like it is more “rustic”

My favorite surface to print on is aluminum. The way the light shines on the surface can just breath life into a scene! When one of these pictures is hung on a wall near a light source as the light changes throughout the day the pictures changes in subtle ways as well.

Currently,I have these pictures in my studio. If you would like to come by and see them I would love to show you!

I am trying very hard to have “regular” hours. Typically I am there Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons (Fridays have been alluding me lately and I will not be there the next two) But if you let me know when you would like to come by the studio I would happily open things up for you! You can also view these and many other landscapes on my website just click on the tab labeled “view or purchase photos” or click here. You can purchase photos directly from that site, but if you would like your landscape printed on aluminum or birch, please contact me for a quote since those options are not available from that website.

Regardless, they are there for you to just look around and see what is there 😉

After being away from home for several hours we came home to find we had an intruder while we were away. 🙁  The best I could do for my photo prompt of {high} was to hold my iphone {high} above the cat food bag when I took the photo… 😐 (Some days finding the time/ inspiration are more difficult than others} 🙁

Take a Picture of Whatever You Want

I was thrilled to see that my prompt for the day was to {take a picture of whatever I wanted} That took the pressure off! We had the opportunity to be tour guides this weekend so we set off exploring . We headed up to Mt. St. Helens and hiked into June Lake. The only other time I had been to that area had been on a snowshoeing trip so it was fun to see the difference!
