Thursday’s photo prompt {keepsake} had my mind racing…
I am a person who likes sentimental things…
But nothing sprang to mind…
Initially I pulled out my postcard collection. I love that collection…
But then I thought of a beautiful wooden box I’ve had since childhood…
And then I remembered what I keep in that box…
LOVE LETTERS!!!
Then I wondered why it took me so long to think of them…
Letters written from my 20/21 year old future husband to my 18/19 year old self…
Especially interesting are the letters written shortly after our engagement. Jeff was living in Florida and I was in Oregon. In those days phone calls were EXPENSIVE and of course texting and skyping were unheard of…
I wonder how many people will have love letters in the future?
I wouldn’t trade them for anything!

I’m not a “crafty” person…
I don’t have quilts, slippers, ornaments, pottery, etc that I made…
But I guess taking pictures qualifies as something {I made this}…
I’m enjoying this 365 project. I’m challenging myself to use my DSLR instead of just pulling out the iphone for a quick snap…I feel I am growing as a photographer and that is exciting to me.
