Comfy/Starts with P/Pink

Comfy

33/365

Monday I was trying hard to not give in to the feeling of sick that was insistently pestering me…

I gave in at noon…

I settled into my {comfy} couch, under my most {comfy} blanket and enjoyed reading for awhile…

Later in the afternoon the sun came out and I enjoyed sitting on my porch swing with the sun’s warmth.  Despite not feeling good I was very {comfy].

I’m often proud of how long I have been married.  I married at 20… now that I am a parent of a 20 year old that seems AWFULLY young! But it has worked out just fine for us…

And even though we have been married for 26+ years I cannot fathom being married for 75 years!!!! Of course I can’t even imagine living for that long at this point!

Jeff’s wonderful grandparents “Papo and Grammy” celebrate this amazing achievement on February 27th.  They are inspiring in so many ways! Raised dirt poor in West Tennessee they know what it is like to live without plumbing, packaged food, cars, electricity… They know what it is like to pick cotton in a field under the blistering southern heat and they know that hard work and commitment pay off.  Commitment to God, each other, family and the values they believe in.

These two were married at 18, while sitting in a car.  It was pouring rain and the dirt roads where deep in mud and the pastor came to the car window in his gum boots and married them 🙂  I love that! Papo had to work hard for his family and wasn’t even able to finish elementary school and yet his hard work paid off and he became president of a furniture company. Grammy his ever faithful companion worked right along side him and still cares for his every need.  They are a blessing and inspiration!
Words to ponder today:

“Be nice to yourself…It’s hard to be Happy when someone is mean to you all the time.”
