I’m in love with {bokeh} – rhymes with mocha…
Its that blurry background you find in some pictures…
I especially love {bokeh} when taking portraits….
I feel it accentuates the picture, adding a nice contrast that helps the subject stand out…
It took me a long time to understand how to accomplish this in photography…
It happens when you have a lens (which I do now) that will shoot wide open – in this case Nikon 50mm 1.8 – that means the it has the ability to have a very shallow depth of field only allowing the camera to focus on a very shallow field – blurring the background…
Often people like to make the lights in the background of their pictures {bokeh} like the one of Matthew…
But it can be done with landscapes as well…
A Sound

Sometimes my initial reaction to seeing the photo prompt for the day {a sound} makes me groan…
Initially I’m just not very inspired…
How on earth do you take a picture of {a sound}?!
But I do like it because it makes me think…
Sometimes the results don’t look like much…
But there are days when I’m looking and thinking all day about what I will take a picture of that day…
I then it occurred to me that I could take a picture of Ty’s guitar and amp…
I’m extremely proud of my son’s musical ability…
I had so much fun watching him perform last weekend…
He rarely get’s the opportunity to play how he wants to upfront…
Watching him I knew that he was enjoying himself and that was a beautiful thing to see and hear…
Ty has really grown with his abilities because he has a dream and he is willing to work at it and not give up…
