9am/How I relax/What I’m doing now

At {9am} on this day I was at a doctors appointment waiting to have my blood drawn…
I intended to take a picture while the needle was going into my arm, but I was trying so hard at that moment to pretend a needle wasn’t going into my arm that I forgot to take the picture!
How I relax

{How I relax} really depends on what is going on in my life…
Sometimes it means sitting down with a chai and reading a good book…
Sometimes it means calling up a friend and going out to eat…
Sometimes it means watching TV…

But more often than not it means I am being active in some way, hike, bike, walk…
On this day it was taking a walk with my favorite guy at my favorite park…
I absolutely love this park and the fact that it is only 10 min from my home is such a bonus!

What I’m Doing Now
{What I’m doing now} – that changed a lot over the course of this busy Sunday…

But at the end of the day I had the opportunity to meet a new family…
A beautiful family that clearly loved each other…
Their littlest one was not really into the photographer or the whole idea of what we were trying to accomplish.
She was content snuggling with mom or dad….

So what to do…
This is a tricky situation, the date has been reserved, the weather is perfect, everyone is dressed up and ready to go…
And a 3 year old is clearly in charge 🙂  Not really but obviously you can’t have family pictures if one member of the family doesn’t want their picture taken!

Little ones don’t understand what the fuss is about and who can blame them? So instead of taking pictures we decided to do something else for a bit…
So out came the bubbles…
Bubbles…who knew they were an ESSENTIAL piece of equipment for a photographer?!
We got some smiles, some laughter and I started to breathe a sigh of relief…

But…this little darling just wasn’t ready…She just wasn’t in the mood for what everyone else wanted her to do….

Fortunately I have an amazing assistant… He has worked his charm before on some of my clients…

With some patience, a change of scenery and my goofy assistant we were able to get some smiles…

So what I was doing was breathing a giant sigh of relief!  Thankful we were able to help her feel comfortable and I even think she had some fun at the end!

But to be fair I can’t take all the credit! Dad and Mom were so patient and encouraging of their daughter.  It was a great team to work with!!

And I fell in love with this little man! He loved the camera and clearly it loved him right back!!!

If your day is difficult and you don’t want to do what others want you to do I suggest taking a bubble break!! It really can help!!
