Happy Momma! Spring Break 2016

My boys are home! We will be leaving for the beach Sunday. I could not be more excited! We have not been together as a family of 4 under one roof since Thanksgiving! While we have seen each other its just not the same as having them home! Jeff and I came up with a plan. We planned to WIN! I noticed that I have some friends that win with their kids because of certain advantages - usually in the form of vacation homes, plane tickets or other goodies that insure their kids will come home for the holidays. After [...]

Hello #48 {Travel Photography Portland OR & Vancouver WA}

I have travel goals and I take them seriously. Does anyone else share this passion with me? Of course as a photographer one of the joys of traveling is finding those unique landscapes to capture with my camera and bring home. Landscape photography is very therapeutic for me and the best souvenir I can bring home from a trip are some gorgeous shots.  I have been VERY blessed with opportunities to travel. So the majority of the places I've been to have, for the most part, just happened. Because of my job or life's circumstances I have had lots of [...]

Tick Tock, Tick Tock, Tick Tock….

2016 is quickly coming to a close. How do you feel about that? Are you the type that reflects back on the year and asks questions like How did I do? Do you compare years? Do you make new resolutions for next year? Do you pull out the list from last Jan 1 and notice your accomplishments? I have mentioned before I don't do resolutions. I do like to set goals for myself. For example I challenged myself two years ago to daily devotions and I have kept with that. I challenged myself last year to read 30 books this [...]

Let’s Celebrate together!

Did you enjoy the big snow storm yesterday? Or the icey slop we have this morning? I'll admit to having a bit of a temper tantrum just before noon when there still hadn't been any snow to speak of. It's such a rare event I keep hoping that this will be the time we get absolutely buried in snow.  ;-)  Maybe next time. I hope you have marked your calendars and plan to stop by on Sunday between 2-4 to visit my studio. I'm really looking forward to seeing you all and eating Becky's yummy food!  :lol:  Things have been [...]

Fry Guys {Family Photographer Portland OR & Vancouver WA}

I was stressing because I didn't know how I was going to find time for my own family shoot! How would that look?!  :lol:  It's like the cobbler with out shoes!  Sometimes the best things happen spontaneously! Last year we had sunshine and time to go to a Christmas Tree Farm and do our family shoot there. This year a combination of weather and availability meant there was no time on the weekends to shoot and with it getting dark so early a week night wasn't a possibility because of Jeff's job. Grrrrrr. Thanksgiving Day's forecast was for torrential rain... [...]

Cella Family {Family Photographer Portland OR & Vancouver WA}

I met Heather and her son Tyler this Fall when I took Tyler's senior pictures. We had such a fun time Heather asked me to do a family session with her entire family and I was thrilled to have the opportunity. Heather was beaming she was so grateful to have her family together and to be capturing precious pictures that will be cherished! I was able to meet Heather's husband Jeff, Tyler's big brother Michael and little brother Zachary.  Michael's beautiful girlfriend, Desi and their adorable son Braxley also joined in. Braxley was perfectly content in that box! I think [...]

Tyler – Senior @ Camas High Class of 2017 {Senior Photographer Portland OR & Vancouver WA}

I taught high school history for 24 years. While I'm thrilled to be a photographer I do miss the "kids". That is one of the reasons why I love Senior Sessions. I get to spend some time with some pretty cool teenagers and Tyler is definitely one of them! After being rained out of our original date we rescheduled for a gorgeous Wednesday Fall morning. Tyler is a local Camas boy so we planned to do part of  his shoot in the historic downtown area which I love! Brick walls, tree lined streets, stairs, colored doors all features this photographer [...]

Happy Monday?

I woke up this morning with my head swimming with a long list of things to do AND worry about from now until 5am Thursday morning. It is a LONG list. 8-O I'm sure I'm not the only one waking up on the wrong side of the bed today.  :-| First on my list was to help my kid load the last few items and say goodbye to him - again. I'm so thankful for a Grandpa that is available to help Josh move into his new duplex. I will get to do this again tomorrow when Ty heads out. [...]

Senior – Jackson {Senior Photographer Battle Ground WA & Vancouver WA}

I met Jackson's Mom Cathy last winter when she was working in the office across from mine. Cathy is cheerful and bubbly and loves her kids! I was excited when she booked her son Jackson's Senior Session way back in the Spring. She told me he didn't want senior pictures but she had bribed him by saying he could fish during some of them.  ;-) I didn't meet Jackson until we gathered at the park for his Senior Session. Whether he was there against his will or not he never let it show. Polite, friendly, and willing to pose for [...]

Cousins Camp – Silver Lake {Event Photographer Vancouver WA & Battle Ground WA}

I have been invited for the past 3 years to be the photographer at a cousins wake-boarding, water-skiing, tubing, playing in the water - camp. It is a big beautiful family with a fantastic tradition that goes back at least 4 generations on this lake. Throughout the day I would hear the grown ups tell stories of how they nearly died doing various daredevil activities when they were kids. They were telling me these stories while occasionally yelling out to their own kids to be careful and not do such and such. Which made me smile.  ;-)  It was a [...]
